This season did many things. It’s the reason I’ve convinced the girlfriend that the Bay Area should be our next holiday in October… and that I need to invest heavily in @Tron Clothing Co.
Used to work with a member, could have played it but was super unwoke at the time and didn’t.
Really great season. Pasatiempo is the course I most want to play of the courses visited (duh).
Olympic Cliffs course looks mega sick too.
Harding Park looks like it’s going to get absolutely eaten alive by the pros unless they make it a par 66. Soly tore that place up!
soly was playing the one-ups tho
still a valid point
They were playing white tees on many holes…but yeah, barring a lot of rough, Harding is not the toughest course the pros will face.
yes, and? you still have to go shoot a low score…
I’ve never played there but the course looked pretty easy and straightforward. Also it tips out at 7,169 which is a pitch and putt for most guys now, plus it didn’t look like there was much room for them to stretch it out either.
Brooks wins at 47 under.
Ha. Still not totally convinced…those pictures were taken at widely different times of day (sun at totally different angle on the 7th and 9th holes, and it is morning on 9th hole and late afternoon on the 18th) …but fun to talk about anyway. Maybe Shankadelic played and took pictures on more than one visit, or played 36 holes.
I was going to say -53 for Bruce but eh, close enough
Is par like…even relevant bro?
Do you even microclimate, bro? Shit changes by the minute!
Haven’t played there in a couple months, but last time I did they were already building a new tee, and I’m sure they will build other ones…there is the entire par 3 course in the middle of the actual Harding course afterall.
Pros play it as a par 70, at least 800 yards back from Soly.
-42 at the lowest for Blake.
We played in mid-December, teeing off late morning (11ish), stopped for lunch, and finished around 4. Pictures of the entrance and clubhouse taken upon arrival (9:30 or so, because I met with the GM).
[Edited because I forgot we stopped for lunch so it was probably around 4 when we finished.]
Cool. The GM used to be at my club.
Are you at Orinda or Blackhawk?
Orinda.
Did anyone watch the match play at Harding park?
Pros didn’t eat it up as much as you’d think. It will probably play like bethpage lite
They started narrowing the fairways at Harding in April or May of this year, building a few new tees as well. They’re also apparently pushing fairway out around bunkers in a few places, creating short grass chipping areas, I guess. By May of next year, it will probably play a lot like Bethpage. Not as long on the card, though San Francisco may be cooler and can be windy, so that can make the course play a bit longer. Of course, if it is a bit shorter, that actually keeps it from being quite as much of a feast for the bombers as Bethpage was.
Really, really enjoyed this season. Major props to everyone for being able to create these and bring a totally different vibe with each new trip/season. I have not been to Australia and though I’ve been to the British isles I haven’t played golf in Scotland so those season really were like, “Whoa, look at this other world!” This season was a very cool change of pace from that. Not only was it in the US, but most of these courses are public (hell, I’ve played many of them). Sure, my trips to these courses don’t usually involve PGA pros popping in to critique my chances of getting up and down, but that’s the magic of the world the boys travel in. Of course, at Rustic you might just get paired with someone from the industry (I have been paired with an agent and a writer on separate occasions, no NCIS cast members yet).
The Iration soundtrack was a good vibe, as well.

Throwing everything I have into the last Callaway sweepstakes.
