Tourist Sauce Season 3: LA to San Francisco

Quite a few. I think it is also about leaving room for wind. Last week two par 3s in the 190-200 range were playing 220 with wind.

Ah well wind is wind, that happens. At Taconic from the back, #17 is 250 yards with uphill below so you can’t really run it up. Green slants hard back-to-front, though, so it’s still receptive to long woods.

LMAO Great find, and perfect point.

Played in a tournament in May that was 40 deg with rain and there was a 235 yard par 3 playing into the wind. @leric90 hit the green with driver.

#1 Golf Now bookable course amongst Golf Now users in 2013. What’s wrong with that?

Seems to be quite relevant to that user base.

Harborside?

I don’t understand people that wanna play tipped out golf all the time but aren’t consistently shooting in the low 70s. I’m not good but I’m one of the better golfers of my group of friends and it’s always been a battle for what tees to play. Hey guys we aren’t good. Some of yall are lucky to make a birdie per round. Is it some sort of tough guy masculine thing to play from the tips? Are these the same people who call you a pussy for putting on sunscreen?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA this is 100% true, didn’t really have a choice because i was playing like absolute garbage and couldnt get the ball off the tee

I’m a 7 and I make like maybe one birdie per round…

My friend and I had this argument at Pinehurst #2. He wanted to play at 6800 and I wanted to play at 6300. My game was shit at that point so it factored in, but I was like dude I want to try and enjoy this. He wanted to challenge himself at one of the tougher courses around which I get. We ended up getting paired with a member who was playing 6800 so I decided to follow suit.

Par is irrelevant right? So is birdie.

Hey, don’t take away his net birdies.

For as far back as I can remember as a kid my family watched the Seinfeld reruns at 6:30 every night as we ate dinner. This went on for YEARS. I can’t remember it ever getting old even though I had to have seen every episode at least a half dozen times.

In 6 tournament rounds I have 1 birdie and I am in 3rd place overall. I have 8 more pars and 5 less bogeys than the guy in 1st.

I think this says it best…people view it as “the longer the course, the bigger the challenge” (obviously this is a massive generalization)…as long as I can hit a variety of shots and have fun doing it, I am totally OK with playing up

The key to scoring isn’t turning 4 into 3, it’s 5 into 4 (and 6 into 5).

It depends on conditions, weather, matches, etc. We played a lot of white tees on this trip because it was so cold/windy/wet. I promise no one made too many birdies.

at thunderhawk i missed 5 birdie putts inside 10 feet, and made 1 birdie putt on #2 above the hole on a crazy downhill sidewinder, go figure

True, that’s why you weight their rankings based upon the number of rankings submitted.
