Home of one of my luckiest shots! Skulled my tee shot right into the top of the rock wall, bounced up with enough topspin that it landed and rolled onto the green where I gloriously missed my birdie putt.
That night the proprietor at the Hazelbank Hotel asked who of us was closest to the pin on this hole, and while I was I said it was my buddy Rob who got there in a more traditional manner. He then gave Rob a bottle of scotch. I have regrets.
The higher the hair, the closer to God.

In the leadup to today’s Tourist Sauce round at Pacific Grove Golf Links, let’s go back to 2010 and the Monterey County Four Ball. I forgot all my clothes back home in Modesto so I had to wear my old man’s horrendous argyle sweater and pleated pants. We won and got a box for a trophy. The 19 year old runner-ups got wine glasses.
Pacific Grove is so, so, so fun. Can’t wait to see the guys tackle it today. There is some OB seriously in play out there and just don’t see Neil keeping it on the property (I think this may be where the “Very tight. Tight. Tight piece of property” DJ Pie quote comes from)

I think with it being at Pacific Grove, Neil lost one of his big advantages over Tron with distance. I can’t imagine he pulled driver more than a handful of times out there. My heart says Neil, but head says Tron.
