Bandon leaks into all the threads.
To be fair there are only roughly 15 different threads specifically about Bandon or something related to Bandon.
@djpie there are ads on Strapped. Is that supposed to be happening or is it unavoidable on older episodes with music on it?
It happens whenever you use music that you don’t pay the rights for, I believe. I think with Tourist Sauce they have, when needed, paid for that but Strapped is … well, Strapped. There’s a benefit to watching it the night it comes out because YouTube hasn’t figured out how to monetize it yet.
You can also pay for YouTube premium to skip the ads.
That’s what I figured. I am rewatching them with a friend who is #gettinginvolved. Gotta say they are just as good a second time through.
Second time? Oh, you sweet summer child.
I’m rewatching them all again in order to see how things develop, as i think the conclusion of Season 10 will feel more and more inevitable without watching them over so many years. That said, I’ve previously rewatched them before a few times. I’m certifiable.
Suggestion for the Refuge to @McSchvantz or others - is it possible WHEN appropriate to block users from posting in certain threads? I doubt it would need to be used much but a few threads here are pretty sensitive and thoughtful and occasionally some folks come in and really wreck shit in a way that doesn’t violate Refuge rules (well, it does violate the TC way) but would be good to let users READ but not WRITE to that thread(s). Just a thought - I know Reddit does this out of need, we are far from the cesspool of Reddit but there are benefits to that approach.
Can we get list of topics and associated users that aren’t allowed to post? Love to hear the criteria that went into this
Frank is in the mental health tread posting “great” advice like “just don’t be sad”
Is he at least saying “just don’t be sad” in haiku form?
Isn’t there already a mute button? Certain people can be easily ignored if haikus aren’t your thing
For sure, just wanted to give context of where I’m guessing the request came from.
Lawsonia has been a GCA.com and related individuals’ favourite, promoted in articles and on socials for 15 years.
The idea that it was “discovered” by TFE or NLU in the past handful of years is LOL.
Wait until you guys hear about this place called Tobacco Road. It’s insane!!
Yeah this isn’t about me. There are a bunch of folks in there who he is being incredibly insensitive to, whether he gets it or not. Putting it on everyone to mute him is fine, and they should and likely will, but it’s not really what I’m talking about here. And if this was possible, I’d assume it would be used extremely rarely and only for cases like this.
Ok, but you still haven’t answered my question. Where’s the criteria? Whose level of sensitivity towards assholes writing in haikus are we basing this off?
There’s this whole “slippery slope” argument (@anon47037505 would be great at breaking it down for you) that seems to apply here.
I get all of that. In Reddit, it’s up to the moderators of each sub which are way more independent than anything here. My answer would be “the moderators” and agree with all your concerns. I just asked the question, as I know why it would make sense in this one scenario and as I stated, don’t think it would be a good thing in any larger sense.
I think in this one case, the backlash to him may have finally been enough to self-police and that is a better, more extensible situation. It would have been even better if several people weren’t made to be quite so upset in the first place, of course.

Frank’s a flash in the pan. Nothing to be concerned about. Eventually will be lost amongst the ancient inside references at most.
