Here are the rates, just waiting for booking instructions. But this is locked.
There are too many threads talking about Sedge Valley and I only trust this group. Can we get on there around the Ope?
If you’re a resort guest, yes. Opens July 1 to the public.
If you’re not a resort guest, talk to our resident connected guy @midwestgolfbum and see what magic he can do.
We will make it happen.
Somehow I don’t think this supper club will hit as good as a WI based one.
Shoutout to the targeted IG advertising though
I am seeking opinions.
Full disclosure we’re going to do whatever we see as the easiest/best plan of action BUT:
HOW SHOULD OPE CUP TEAMS BE SELECTED?
- Captains Pick teams
- Randomized
- Batty Picks Teams Manually
Where is the dense/butthurt option?
I think you just selected it?
Is this the Roost challenge part of things?
No no.
This if just friendly team golf format I am piecing together for fun and to raise funds for The American Society for Reproductive Medicine: The Joseph Sanfilippo, MD, MBA, In Training-Surgical Research Fund
Friday morning Fourball matches on The Links so everyone gets to play their own ball.
Friday afternoon singles on the woodlands
Saturday morning scotch foursomes on the woodlands
Which leaves Saturday afternoon on the links for people to play their own ball again.
EDIT: IN FACT @tigergolftraveler my ideal situation is to have people from all over get to play together not have it be roost connected.
In lieu of that option I’ll go captains picks!
Was going through my bag before leaving for a golf trip tomorrow and came across the Titleist with @ajvhandel’s face on it that I “won” at last year’s Ope. I won’t post the photo as to not dox him but it’ll come with me on the trip. Let me know which hole at Poppy Hills you want to be lost on.
Hell yeah! The perfect ball to pull out on that hole where you don’t trust yourself and don’t want to lose a brand new ball, so you dig in the bottom of your bag and pull it out.
I’ll let you choose between two and three. Seems like the ravine would be a fitting resting place for a ball with my mug on it
I’ve got more for those that I play with at this years rendition of the Ope
Can I point out how intelligent Joseph Sanfilippo, MD, MBA appears to be? “My intent is to be an expert at medicine, but also business. I considered law, but there are enough of those folks on the Refuge already.”
Also, @Jpop942 hold onto that ball and trade it for an insulation/stabbing knife and a sixer of Moon Man (you can drink or give to me) at next year’s Ope.
Good Morning Everyone,
So going forward, Wednesdays on the countdown are going to be slightly different. Last year per @midwestgolfbum 's after event post 16 states were represented at the 2023 Ope. This honestly blew my mind last year as a native Wisconsinite that people would travel this far and wide to come play an awesome albeit less prestigious golf course than you would expect people to travel a long ways for. But after playing in the Ope last year it’s obvious why people are willing to travel because it’s about more than the golf.
With this in mind, we currently have 26 states in the field or on the waitlist and 27 Wednesdays until the Op3-N, so every Wednesday from here on out will feature one of the states represented in the current Op3-N signup along with a golf course I’ve either played or would like to play in said states (only played in 16 different states so far) and if more than two other states join from here the plan goes out the window.
With all of this said and out of the way let’s get started.
Love this idea. Especially love the inevitable flak you’re going to get from natives when you pick the ‘wrong’ course for your state wish list ![]()
177 days until the Op3-N, an Alabama appreciation post. Shout out Gulf Shores which was my de facto Spring Training for my college golf seasons every year

I’ve never golfed in Minnesota and have only golfed two courses in Illinois, can’t wait to be roasted by both communities!
Tell the MN folk you love Keller, it won’t cause any issues.
