I truly think the time zone is one of your greatest battles for expansion. If it weren’t for so many folks (seemingly) on EST, I’d think Central-Southern IL would be yours for the taking

No clue, haven’t bothered to look into the reasoning. Just odd seeing only the corners and not just split down the middle like the states below are.

Bringing the line straight down the Eastern border of the state into KY would just make too much sense

The only perk of eastern would be the fact that I get an extra hour of sleep on the weekend when Liverpool have the early game.

I’m pretty sure the reasoning was that there are enough Chicago commuters in the top left corner to put them on the same timezone as Chicago.
The bottom left corner still weirds me out though. That makes no sense.

My guess is that a lot of the folks from Henderson, KY work in southern Indiana, so they would be loosing an hour coming to work everyday.
