Oh definitely overrated, along with Nachos and Spinach Dip. The premier bar snack/appetizer forever and will always be Potato Skins.

Depends on if weāre talking average performance or peak. Peak potato skin is real good, but God the floor is truly dire.
Iāve never had a wing that was as bad as a bad potato skin.

I chalk it up to experience; a chicken wing while if treated properly can be great, the average wing now is sub par at best, and throw in bad saucesā¦yeeesh.
Potato Skins though, your average Potato Skin is always gonna be awesome, and this is where consistency comes into play. I will take an average Skin over an average Wing anyday. Crisp Potato, Melty Cheese, and Baconā¦glorious Bacon; The Skin Renaissance is upon us, so many places are realizing the greatness of the humble potato as the prices of GMO chicken continue to rise. The Spud Heads out on the Rock know a thing or two.
Edit: This take also is based on having seen chicken handled in bar/restaurants over the years. Iāve seen shit manā¦
