I don’t know enough about Middle TN golf 
Here’s the train of thought with trying to stay in Kentucky…
- Middle TN has zero hidden gems. The Legacy is the best affordable golf course IMO, but it’s not worth traveling to the area for that golf course specifically
- Alabama has some great options, but it can get hot quick so I figure it’s safer the further north we can stay within our region
- Mississippi is hard to get to for a lot of folks

Have you considered Old Toccoa Farm (might be encroaching on other’s terriroty, but a little colonization never hurt anyone, right?)
