In theory yes, but it wouldn’t have mattered. The fees are assessed on the original payment so even if I refunded less the fees, it would be net zero. The problem was I didn’t understand the invoicing fee until it was too late - a new and exciting fee that Stripe implemented sometimes last year. You used to get 25 free invoices per month.
That works 30 days out from the event.
Tough to get that to work 24 hours before the event.
Also that. Thankfully we didn’t have any of that this time (except for Guy’s two subs on the Wednesday beforehand), but like I said it’s just a learning experience for future events. What’s important is we still ended up net positive and got to make a donation.
Does Stripe or UG have an insurance option that you can add in, like you see on flights and what not? Then each person can pony up a few extra dollars if they want to protect themselves (and Stripe eats that), or they can intentionally choose to “self insure” and just take the L on lost money if they end up having to cancel last-minute.
Maybe, I haven’t explored that much. The plan moving forward is going to be to use Venmo business anyway, because their non-profit fee is slightly lower than Stripe. Not having it fully-integrated to Unknown will be a bit of a headache but imo it’s worth it to keep everyone’s costs as low as possible
I’m sorry, what?
Experienced it with the ope this year. Life happens.
My joke here is I came to Cornstalk a few months removed from knee surgery and only played a few holes both days.
WD’ing due to injury is the COWARD WAY!
If I die between today and next year’s Ope, I guarantee you that I will pay my entry fee, and @RyMo will bring my corpse with him and I’ll be shotgun in his cart.
Thyeve come a long way in the field of Taxidermy.
Especially when you have to move that money between 401ks.

Does he have enough commitment though if real carts aren’t an option and he’s got to put you on a push cart?
That’s because you’re a fucking king. But one guy had to have back surgery so that’s understandable.
Challenge accepted. Scheduling back surgery now for next year’s event.
Hey all, we officially have event photos available. These are web resolution for sharing on socials and the like. There’s a second album of print-quality photos but I’m working out a way to get those that doesn’t involve me having to pay for Dropbox… Stay tuned

Early highlight for me: In the first pic I saw of our group from day 1, it’s @SK777, @ColoniusFunk, and @CrucialTaunt and one of the texas guys (@Insulin_And_Bogeys I believe). I totally forgot we’d finished that round as a group of 6 and I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t one of the four guys in the picture. I thought I was misremembering who I played with. Classic.
104 is going on the fridge.
