We played it a few weeks after the KFT was there so it was very well conditioned. The rough was absolutely heinous though. I remember it being unseasonably cold too, like 40F at tee time.

I received a recommendation from my uncle on Bent Tree in Council Bluffs. Don’t think I’ll be able to play it on this trip but it’s about 30 min east of Omaha so figured I’d share the rec with the caveat I’ve never played. Also, my Uncle is/was a low cap most of his life so take that for what it’s worth.

Bent Tree is so much fun. My in-laws used to live just down the road and would play it every time we visited.

Rock Valley has a fun 9 hole course that is usually great conditions and not too busy.
The Grand Falls Casino course in Larchwood is also fun to play and a reasonable price
Would recommend Highlands in Lincoln if you’re coming from that way. Cheap, usually in good condition, some interesting holes, not far off I-80.
Also right next to train tracks and the airport, if you’re into infrastructure. Quintessential strapped course.
