We’re almost to my favorite part of getting ready for any golf trip, the “let’s see if anything has decided to live inside of my travel case” step.
The current stage is “do enough at work that I’m not coming back to a pile of shit next week.”

My current stage is “look up Tatanka and Landman on the Grint and plot my shots like I can control a driver right now at all.” The good news is it’s an easy 70 - 74 every time. The bad news is I have to hit these shots for real shortly and those numbers will be in the rearview quickly.
I am unreasonably excited. I don’t really care about golf course architecture, but I am excited to check Landman out.

I tried a new driver shaft for the last 3 rounds I played, like an idiot. It went OK, and the good ones were very good, but it brought a HUGE left miss into play. So I decided after Saturday’s round to go back to my old driver shaft and spent a lot of time at the range Sunday and Monday trying to get comfortable with it again. Results were mixed. It could be an adventure.

I would have added something about the weather, but I share your superstition and it wasn’t worth jeopardizing our days for a couple likes.

My comfy fade has become a full blown push slice and I am like a fucking drowning rat clinging to literally anything right now. I almost just bought a full new driver, but my wife, surprisingly, did not think that was a reasonable solution.
I have hit probably 50-75 driver swings recently on the range and in my sim, which is about 75 more than I ever normally would. It’s scary. I am scared. Anything can happen right now.

This is exactly what had me trying out a new shaft. But instead I’m just gonna aim left and hope the slice stays slicing this weekend. I hope it works out well for both of us.
