Lol. Itās not, for sure going to get a form out for some feedback, but might not do that until the new year because we have THE Final Round happening. So all focus will be there post NIT.

The Brief
It is often said that matchplay offers competitors the purest form of golf. The way the game was intended to be played. It is also rumored that The Carolinas offers the purest golf courses this side of the pond. Well why not bring those two things together for a glorious competition shared amongst friends?
The Details
The CLC Matchplay will be a year long event, consisting of competition in and around the āCarolinasā area. These competitors, based on regional preference, will be placed into pods for our āgroup stageā competition, play matches, and advance on until we crown a champion.
Everyone who signs up will be guaranteed at least three matches as a part of your āpodā play.

The deadline for signup at the link above is January 15th at 11:59PM Eastern.
Plan is to have a $25 buy in for the matchplay. This is for two main reasons: 1) This holds folks accountable for signing up and playing their matches. 2) We will utilize the funds to help run back end logistics, trophy / prize funding, subsidize costs for the final 4, and donations to charity.
Frequently asked questions
- How does this work with the regional / national roosts competitions?
- CLC Matchplay will remain separate from the roost stuff, your roost captain may determine this to play into your roost standings / scoring, but signing up is separate
- Do I have to be a refuge / nest member?
- Nope, you just have to like some competitive golf and make sure we know to get a hold of you for matches
- I am going to make the Final Four, when and where will that be?
- TBD for now, going to work on getting that nailed down this month so we can work backwards on the deadlines for other sections. We will make it a great golf destination!
- When is the matchplay going to get started?
- I promise we will over communicate over time, for now the plan is to get as many folks signed up who are interested (Deadline Jan 15) and then start working on the logistics / schedule from there.
- So who won this thing in 2021?

Folks!!! We are almost ready. I am blown away by the interest this year and looking forward to getting this Matchplay Season kicked off very soon. I have a couple of big announcements, on the backend I have stuff ready to launch, but realized I need some COMMITMENT before we jump inā¦
So what does that mean?
We have 82 Signed up, Iāll share the list below. If you are realizing that doesnāt divide nice, donāt worry I got it. I am going to make the numbers work so we can all play, but as I said up front:

So whats the timing?
- Send me the money by 2/24 (3 weeks)
- Iāll announce pods and the plan on scoring by 2/28
- Matches officially begin on 3/1
Calendar for the year
- Group Stage: 3/1 - 7/15 (yes a long time to get your matches in and there will be plenty of them to happen, watch this space)
- Round of 32: 7/15 - 8/16
- Sweet 16: 8/16 - 9/16
- Elite 8: 9/16 - 10/14
- Final 4 and Championship Match will be hosted the weekend of 10/15 with a 36 hole day.
