@Bagumbo do you have a spare set of hickories?
Great, give @freesypop everything he ever wanted. Butter Cow with no Cold Water
Honestly this is best case scenario. I am stoked
I have too many balls in my bag, a double shot of Veenk will cure that.
I am not shocked that Coldwater gave us the KVV treatment.
At least they gave you a heads up. Ope 2, our afternoon times on Links Saturday got double booked with some jackass Barstool event and we got delayed like 90 minutes per time with 6 hour pace of play. And didn’t know about it until it was time to tee off.
Ok so here we go. Here is my initial go around at a Bladey 80 alt tee for Veenker Morning round, this time with visual aids. Again I.tried to have variety in par 3s and par 4s, and a somewhat difficult finish. (Finish is relative, too many times in the past they’ve started us on 10 so we finish on 9).
#2 from 255 is sorta interesting. It becomes more interesting if we go off the beaten path and use the alt tee box behind 16 green.
#3 I could be persuaded to change but I just really wanted to use the fun angle tee box. I know 208 isn’t very far but with trouble left, long, and right, its not an easy one.
#7 isn’t a big or particularly meaningful change, just moved forward to make the tee shot more manageable. The difference isn’t that big of a deal.
#9 moved forward to encourage golfers to take a more aggressive angle on the dogleg. Imagine hitting a 3 iron on this line hoping to make a birdie to achieve a Bladey 80.
#11 I thought would be fun from 100ish yards. Hit a good wedge up that hill and have a manageable birdie putt but you can still get boned.
#14 is listed at 351 but I think that’s more along the dogleg. This one wasn’t especially interesting but gives more golfers an easier look at the green in two.
#17 is more of an easier par 3 to finish down the stretch than anything. I wish they would bring back the old tee by the bridge (marked in blue highlighter) but its overgrown now and likely gone for good.
That’s what I’m looking at. Thought about flipping 16 or 18 to white and flipping 3 to gold, would take comments/concerns about the layout at large.
I think i do actually. Need to repair a couple and it doesn’t have a putter but I’ve got a set you could use.
Better be made of sequoia for mr 128 swing speed
We have two tee times (1:33 PM & 1:42 PM) at the Warren Dickinson designed Bright-Grandview Golf Course (a.k.a. The Olympic Club of the Eastide) for Thursday August 7th.
Such a great shirt, one of my favorite in the closet.
I’m actually pretty excited to play the blade/975D half set in the morning and full set in the afternoon to see how I stack up
Should be some pretty primo weather as long as the rain holds off
You motherfuckers needs to step off the weather game or yer gonna jinx us. Serious now, quit the meteorological talk.
Fuggin rookies.
I have made a tradition of wearing a “less than classy” t-shirt to the Iowa State Fair, but this year I wanted to go with a golf theme that was “less than classy.” When it appeared that my original t-shirt was not going to arrive in time, I panicked & found some back-up apparel to buy. Now it appears both will arrive in time, so will I wear one at Grandview on Thursday (to blend in with the locals)? Who can say?
