The 3rd Annual DBL DBL (Aloha Roost Inaugural Major - NIT Spot) - Soule Park | Feb 27 & 28, 2026

Santa Barbara is a very good airport as well.

If your airline of choice flies there.

The Santa Barbara airport is lovely, and the drive to Ojai is lovely - especially if you time your arrival to have the non-highway part of the drive happen at golden hour.

Burbank is a good option. About 1.5 hours from Ojai. If you get heavy traffic it could take a little more.

Santa Barbara is probably the easiest drive and it’s an awesome little airport. Only downside is there are fewer flights and could be a touch more expensive.

LAX is an option as well but it comes with being the furthest from Ojai and is a lot more congested inside the airport property and on the freeways/roads out of it. It obviously has the most direct flights.

My previous experience with SBA was back in 2008 before they built the new terminal with jetbridges. I was taking the scenic way from PHX to LAS with a 3 hour layover. Loved the architecture of the terminal and how it felt so much different than any other terminal I’ve been to. I used my layover to walk over to the beach and have lunch at a cafe on the beach.

Short runways just like at BUR and SNA so you can get some full power takeoffs out of there. Would highly recommend if the price and schedules work out of for you.

Vacation bidding for 2026 is occurring this month. Thinking about using a week on the DBL DBL week, so that should free me up to fly out Wednesday morning and stay through Sunday night, taking a redeye back to Chicago. I for sure want to include Rustic Canyon as part of my itinerary, open to other experiences, golf and non-golf.

Love people trying to get some Nor Cal golf in. Just keep in mind Santa Cruz is a 5 hour drive from Ojai.

I fully support the idea, just want people to know what they’re signing up for if they pre or post game in Nor Cal.

I’ve added my name to the list of wannabes because I think this event would be super fun and I’m feeling super bummed right now about having no golf trips planned!

Nobody should want to see anything between Santa Clarita and the Los Banos cutoff.

It’s literally called the bathroom cutoff why wouldn’t I want to see it?

You can see it. It’s just where the nice part of the drive either stops or starts, depending on which direction you’re heading.

Is the nice part in or out of The Bathrooms?

Can’t say as I’ve never actually been to a bathroom there.
