A true hero of our time
Like the Carolina Strapped was a bachelor party for Neil, this one is probably a bachelor party for Randy, and since his wedding is in Texas this season of Strapped makes sense being in Texas.
I knew it!
Also, he was from Fort Worth, but I’ve always though Townes Van Zandt’s Dollar Bill Blues would make a great Money Round montage.
Here’s my favorite song about west Texas by a local:
Here’s arguably the most well known band in the area (out of Lubbock) with a song about Midland:
A classic to get you in the west Texas mood:
They’re a Dallas band by way of Chicago, but the Old 97s nailed the feel of driving across the vast Texas landscape with this one. This got several spins on my moves back and forth from TX and NC.
This entire album is fantastic, but here’s another great road song from Midland. Honorable mention to Fourteen Gears, another classic.
Ok one more. A totally on the nose song for the Strapped boys. Keep it between the condiments.
Now here’s a guy who’s never had to worry about the big right miss
One I forgot about lol
I was just about to post the Old 97’s song
Not a song, but Terry Allen’s “Lubbock (On Everything)” is a terrific album. Amarillo Highway is one of my favorite songs of all time
Did you bring the Strapped crew to The Oaks?
We don’t need to get anyone killed
Not West Texas, but I’m counting on @justine and @djpie to include a Khruangbin song somewhere in the season
This thread is going to be hilarious when it turns out Strapped 11 is not Lubbock.
Max!
Hearing DJ say it was something they really wanted to do for a long time and was truly in the spirit of Strapped had me thinking of DC because of the National Links Trust, but hard to argue with Christopher Wallace in Red Raiders gear
Strapped: Argentina
further indicative of texas/west texas, IMO, as at least once, if not multiple times throughout strapped doing that location had been discussed.
