Has anybody seen if Spring Valley is still covered?

Very covered.

Who has already applied here? While it would be a pay cut I may have to seriously consider it!

Now that you mentioned it I think I’m going to…

I live in Illinois during the summer and would rather do some long drives than do the IJGA internship.

Bill told me I was too old, the jerk.

Hey all, neighbor from across the big lake

Going to be in the Stevens Point area for work in April. If the weather improves enough by then, are there any courses in the area that are worth getting out on that early? I usually golf March to December as the weather allows (>40°) in Michigan so I’m used to spring/fall conditions. Alternatively, any good public driving ranges?

Looks like Sand Valley opens at the end of April. While it won’t be in top shape at that point obviously, it’s still worth it.

SentryWorld won’t be open until mid-August.

I’ve heard good things about Stevens Point Country Club. No idea how difficult it is to get on out there, you can contact them via their website. (No idea on cost either.)

I would assume Lake Arrowhead will be open as well. (@midwestgolfbum can speak to which of the two courses is better.)

Really, I would expect everyone except SV/SW to be open in April, barring completely messed up weather.

Also, @midwestgolfbum, we should probably start working out details on the match play.

Just thinking about that. We can work something out soon.

Hey there, I live about 45 mins from SP. Lake Arrowhead is great and not too far. Great course out in Iola, WI (Glacier Wood, except for the 15th hole, as previously mentioned on this thread). I’m also a fan of Wisconsin River GC in Stevens Point and Bullseye GC in Wisconsin Rapids.

I hear good things about SPCC but as it’s private, yet to find a way or guest to get a tee time there. Happy to join in on an outing if you’re up for it.

Which Lake Arrowhead course is considered better around here? Planning another Lawsonia and Sand Valley trip this year, and my buddies want to squeeze in 1 more round. Was planning on hitting up one of those courses on the way out.

I’ve only played the Lakes but hear good things from the Pines as well. On The Grint, Lakes is reviewed a little bit higher but I’m sure you’d enjoy both.

Pace of play on the Lakes was brutally slow the last time I played but don’t see that happening too often.

So, maybe this is LCP but, Lakes is a little more forgiving than pines. Pines is more fun when you’re hitting the ball well, though. Generally you’re not going to play insanely fast (plan to wait) on either, so keep that in mind.

To me, the Pines is better. That being said though, I enjoyed my time all 4 times I’ve gone. GREAT stay and play packages.
Both courses are good in my opinion.

Close to 60 this week in Milwaukee and Madison area. Who’s opening up first!? Itchin

The front 9 of Ledgeview GC is open for those in the Green Bay area.

The back 9 may open tomorrow, weather permitting.
