Thankfully, the Refuge can help change that.

I have massive, massive holes in my resume that I am looking to fill in 2021. If anyone is looking to plug especially weekday holes for me, I am in.
So how does someone get on at Blue Mound (literally 5 minutes from my house) or Milwaukee? Have to be the guest of a member? Any other options?
Play in State Open and State Am when there, have a pro who can make a call to get you on, or know a member. All options that Iāve explored.
Edit: To expand, I have customers who are members are both as well as a few guys who are members at my club who are members at one or the other (in a couple cases, both). Blue Mound was nearly my home prior to COVID when things took a couple weird turns and I needed to scale things back spending wise and it no longer made sense. Have been lucky to meet the people that I have over the years and make the connections that I have, not a doubt about it.
Wondered the same thing⦠played once with someone who used to work there and was only able to get 11 holes in. Was a great place and the greens were pure. Definitely want to get back out
Letās go.
Weāll knock out one a month until you are tired of me.
Add me to the havenāt played many private courses listā¦
I also have a bunch of blind spots in the publicly accessible courses too though, so maybe I can get out more in 2021.
1 Mammoth (played well bias)
2 Sand Valley
3 Lawsonia Links
4 Irish
5 River
6 U Ridge
7 Oneida (high school bias)
8 Meadow Valleys
9 Bishops Bay
10 Sentryworld
My top 5 āwant to playā list
Milwaukee CC
Green Bay CC
Blue Mound
Erin Hills
Straits
Ha, well thatās never gonna happen
Should I recall correctly, I do owe you a beer still, so it only makes sense to do so at a course or 6.
Not with that kind of attitude it isnāt!
Dark, dreary, and crumby forecast so Iāll start with my 2021 wish list for the sake of positivity.
- Sand Valley and Mammoth and itās not even close. Perhaps my #1 golf priority for next season.
- U-Ridge - Madison resident, but strangely havenāt played it yet. Popular choice among many here and lower hanging fruit I look forward to playing next year.
- Wild Rock - heard good things, looks nice. Not much more to add.
Not necessarily a ranking, but my 10 favorites so far are:
Erin Hills - played one of my worst rounds ever, itching to go back and right the wrongs
West Bend CC
Irish - always seems to score well there
Lawsonia Links
Meadow Valleys - low course on the Kohler totem pole but always had a soft spot for this place
Whistling Straits - wonderful setting, but would never pay full freight
Washington County
St. Germain - my nod for way up north, though not as well traveled up there
The Bull - unpopular opinion, but that 4 approach - 8th stretch is really quite lovely. Fond memories of certain shots there.
Brown Deer.
Milwaukee/Madison-centric for sure. I have work to do!
Glad this is a judgment free zone. I have a high ceiling and a low floor. Hoping to see a few more courses in 2021.
1 Mammoth
2 Lawsonia
3 Straits
4 URidge
5 Troy Burne
6 Irish (only have foggy HS tourney memories of this)
7 Lake Arrowhead - Pines
8 Hawks Landing
9 Bass Lake (Antigo)
10 Wild Rock
The only way anybody is going to be wrong here is if they have The Oaks anywhere on their ātop 10ā list.
Even if you had your lowest career score there?? Asking for a friendā¦
PS - it still isnāt on my top-10
I achieved my 2020 goal to NOT play The Oaks. Pretty proud.
Yep, even if you had your lowest round, it canāt be on the list.
This is my goal for the remainder of my life. I hope that my eventual children will also be smart enough to never play there.

Shoutout to the nod to St. Germain - played it for the first time this year and was very impressed!
Agreed! Played for first time this summer as well. Was told it was tight & certainly lived up to that description, but well kept & a great round in the midst of a fishing trip.
