Roll Call: Wisconsin - Madison vs Milwaukee

Yeah, that’s the course in my hometown, where I grew up playing the game and worked at for like 5 years doing everything from cart kid to bev cart to pro shop to bar cook to someone who gave lessons

Haven’t played it yet, would like to

Fire Ridge in Grafton is good and probably 30ish minutes from Sheboygan.

Have you done the new routing?? I also think Fire Ridge is solid.

They flipped the 9’s, correct?

Yeah and then 1 or 10 is now the tee box to the left when you come in the entrance (can’t remember what it used to be).

That’s 10 now.

Look at me knowing about public golf!

I need to play that routing again because I was so unsettled with the change the first time. But it did seem to make more sense.

Sounds like a “let’s go launch 'em” situation

Weird Question, non golf related.

For the Milwaukee folks.

Anybody know / can ask around for a wedding makeup artist for the weekend of the 9/10 of August. Got like 3 women in a wedding I am at that are struggling to find someone. Long story but the person in charge of this for the wedding party dropped the ball.

Quic Qui Oc is a very fun course, played it a lot in high school. Crystal Lake, which is near is a fun course as well!!

Haven’t played it in years, but was a member in my youth. The Classic courses were fun with a challenge on The National!!

Another non-golf question, but I need some Milwaukee input.

My wife works for a company that helps find sponsors for big events. One of her clients is the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon. However, we are not local to Milwaukee. So I come to the Refuge in search of some input on local companies that may be a good fit. She says that they specifically would love to get a banking sponsor, so knowing who is pretty big up there would be great (apart from Bank of America since they sponsor Chicago which is a week after Milwaukee). But really, any company that could be a good fit is welcome information so that she can reach out to them. I’ve already put in a plug for Stone Creek Coffee based on the ads on the podcasts.

If anyone is thinking of running that marathon, let me know! My wife can get you a discount on the entry fee. There is also a half-marathon, a 5k, and a walk, so something for everyone!

Us bank is the big one. Nml, Kohl’s, Milwaukee tool, Johnson control, fiserv, Rockwell, manpower are your big companies. There are some law firms to. Watch it for those, shady people work there., so I’ve heard.

US Bank would be the Milwaukee bank. They used to sponsor the 4th of July fireworks.

Northwestern Mutual has put a lot of money into their downtown and suburb offices in the city and they’re helping develop a few areas near their suburb office so they seem desperate to get talent to move here. Could make sense for them to advertise.

Also probably worth contacting Aurora, Froedtert, and Ascension. Those are the big 3 hospital systems. Probably makes sense for them to sponsor a health activity.

Get a brewery for post run kegs, defer to MKE locals here but Lakefront maybe?
