Lawsonia Links wins hands down. Having played Mammoth Dunes this year and Lawsonia Links last year, I say that when you figure cost into the equation, LL is number one. I think that the back nine at LL has the best nine consecutive holes I have ever played.
10 Links, best hole on property.
People have been saying this, including you, from the start.
I know this is late, but Thal Acres is a dog drack, donāt bother. Canāt even put it on the same list as some of these. Lawsonia hands down is the choice, unless you hit SV.
Thal Acres is not on the list, and Coldwater Canyon got bumped in favor of URidge after watching a YT flyover Trapperās Turn is next on the chopping block if I can get Stevens Point to email me back, or I bite the bullet on LLB - just canāt seem to quit it, it looks fun. SV 36-hole day on my own is locked in, as is Lawsonia Links with my dad. ![]()
Apologies if its been asked before, couldnāt find it above.
How walkable of a course is Lawsonia? Driving there tomorrow from Michigan so want to stretch the legs. Thanks in advance
Links is walkable with some hills in spots but short green to tee stretches.
Woodlands has some pretty long green to tee stretches on the front but could be walkable if needed.
If youāre doing 36, just save the legs and take a cart IMO
Thanks! small group of is tacking on Links before heading down to the Geneva area for a larger group trip.
do they have push carts available by any chance?
Given youāve spent about as much time or more than I have in Wisconsin over the past month, Iām glad you are here to field these questions!
@seank, Kevin is right. You can walk Links, but would not recommend it for the Woods. No push carts available, as far as I know.
Maybe? Youāll have to ask the 14-year old manning the cart barn
Printing this and hanging it in my office
I give credit when itās due, even if I donāt like it.
Hey Guis:
Long story short - Iām jumping into a charity race for St. Jude in honor of my nephew Jacob. Heās been battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since last May, and the little dude has been a trooper.
Initially we were told he would be handling treatment for at least 2 yearsā¦
But thanks to childrenās hospitals like St. Jude, heās not only ahead of scheduleā¦but heās on pace to make it to our wedding at Bull Valley in December.
I know this is last minute - but if yāall have a couple bucks to spare I would GREATLY appreciate your donation to our team. Iāll be posting race updates on Saturday on Instagram (TCRBrad). I havenāt run a 10k since 2019ā¦so this should be PRETTY interestingā¦
If Jacob can fight through chemo - my flabby-ass can fight through a run.
Let me know if you have questions or need other info, and thanks again for letting me post here.
Cheers. Craic on.
The man of honor
A few questions: My wife and I are considering a move. Iāve only been in the South and am ready for a change. Wisconsin/Illinois are the top two likely states due to proximity to the new jobās home office/client base. I am still working remotely, but it would make those monthly client trips somewhat driveable if I tire of flying.
I have only been in the state for golf (Erin, Kohler, SV, Madison for a night, etc.). It seems that a lot of people like living in Madison because the food is good and itās walkable.
Can anyone provide me with some insight into Madison/Milwaukee, specifically the downtown area (I would love to walk around after a life in traffic) and the local public golf scene?
Thanks!

Fox Valley area is superior.
Public Golf wise I might agree, but I wouldnāt say itās walkable at all.
Iāve never lived in MKE, and love Madison. I know there arenāt too many Madison folks around, but I imagine the conversation will be popcorn worthy.
For sure, not walking blocks in Neenah or Appelton. But those 2 downtown areas have very cool spots for dinner/drinks.
Assuming I stepped into an ongoing passionate conversation without knowing it.
