Listen, I haven’t eaten in 2.5 days because of some “fun” with norovirus so my spelling is shit. Come visit us some summer and we will enjoy many beers and not worry how they are spelled.

Hello friends. I would like to reach my hand across the border to ask for some advice regarding a bachelor party I am helping plan for this summer. For reference it’s a small group of guys (6-8) with most being into golf and only one or two that aren’t grinders/do other things besides obsess over this silly sport.

We will be staying in Green Lake area with a package that allows us unlimited golf at five courses over two days in June (essentially four rounds if I had to guess). Those courses are:

Lawsonia Links and Woodlands
Mascoutin
Tuscumbia
White Lake

I am essentially looking for opinions on how to spend the rounds we have available across these courses. In my head one day is already blocked off for Lawsonia as a whole. Then I’m initially thinking Mascoutin, and unsure about the last. We have shuttles available for the couple guys that won’t want to play 36 both days, but otherwise I think one day of traveling between courses and a second just at Lawsonia will work the best. Also wondering if we should go for the Lawsonia day first or second since that’s more or less the showstopper. Thanks for any and all help!

Edit: forgot to add that the first round of the day comes with a cart and the second doesn’t. I’d imagine most guys will buy the cart for the second round too but if there’s a lighter course walking wise I will probably skip the cart

As somebody who is presently sitting staring at little green lake, my suggestion is go Lawsonia for a day and Mascoutin for a day, in that order. Lawsonia is 36 (obviously) and Mascoutin is 27, so you’ll get to have some variety as well not need to play 36 day 2 and play the best of the options earlier, when I’m assuming you’d be the most fresh.

Lawsonia has Finn Scooters, might be fun for the non-cart round. If you’re wanting to walk, Links would be the one for that.

Links in the yellow, Woodlands in the red.

Would highly encourage you to maximize time on the Links over the Woodlands when at Lawsonia.

Hoping for a little gold adjacent advice. I am going on an extended golf trip during the back half of July, around some mid western states (Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana). Spending a few days in Wisconsin, playing Erin Hills and Lawsonia.

The day before Erin Hills, I am staying in Hartford. After Erin Hills, I’m driving to Green Lakes, before playing the Lawsonia courses the next day.

Maybe a bit random but was wondering if you guys have recommendations for in between the rounds. Trying to figure out places to eat or stop during the trip.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not Hartford but close
@jan42dk @Btonk3 @ThatDuffGuyPat @Pinehurts may have the same suggestion :joy:

Most people avoid Hartford…but I know a lot of people go to the Mine Shaft. Not the right suggestion for you here though

Looks like Oconomowoc is south of Erin Hills. Would that be a better option?

Lac La Belle is out in Oconomowoc!

I would recommend Oconomowoc,
Hartland, Delafield, Pewaukee before Hartford

If any of those work, we can provide some suggestions

I second this. If you want to golf before Erin, play 9 at Eagle Springs. Much different course in terms of cost and facilities, but a fun time

You only want to stop in at Sheryl’s if you’re prepared for a truly electric experience.

Looks like Oconomowoc would work out even better than Hartford, as its south of Erin Hills, and I will be coming in from the Chicago area that morning. I can hopefully sneak an afternoon 9 in at Eagle Springs, before continuing north to Oconomowoc. Appreciate the help here.

When the time comes and you find yourself here, throw up a flag or a puff of bonfire smoke and I’m guessing at least a couple of us from the Milwaukee area might be happy to meet you out for a beer. Otherwise, I know there’s plenty of advice on places to eat/drink/relax from our collective knowledge if you’d rather not explain why you’re meeting strangers from the internet on your travels to anybody.

That would be awesome! Its going to be an 11 day, solo golf trip across 4 states, a big part of the intrigue is all the strangers that I will meet along the way.
