Roll Call: Wisconsin - Madison vs Milwaukee

There will be a recap video in a couple of weeks following coming from the WSGA. I’ll be doing my best to keep everyone updated in real time with some photos/short video edits.

I’d like to see the logistics on this. Sure, the Kohler day is a little easier, but that’s a lot of wasted time getting between the courses in the middle of Wisconsin.

EDIT: Ok, I’ve seen the schedule. Not sure what kind of help you’re getting from the courses but hour and a half rounds seems rather optimistic.

The idea of being able to play Straits, BR River, and EH but having to sprint from shot to shot and then to your car immediately after bums me out. I’m sure it’ll be a good story to tell though and since DJ is involved it will undoubtedly be good content.

If we don’t have @anon24074719 flying @djpie course to course then what is even happening here

Many people are saying this is the @djpie influencer effect.

Of course the first season in 20 years without Padma comes to Wisconsin.

She’s been in Milwaukee for her new tv series. Kristin will be great. Hopefully Real Chili is involved.

Long time intermittent lurker, first time poster. Looking for quality, reasonably priced coaches in the MKE area. Gotta get these chunk shots and big right misses dialed. (but, seriously, they need to go away).

Wisco folk - Just booked a trip for late October to beautiful MKE for a few days of music at the Riverside. Looking for your help on a couple things -

  • Is 10/20 too late in the year to expect playable conditions?
  • If weather cooperates, anything worth bringing the sticks out for within an hour of MKE?

Otherwise any great bars/restaurants around downtown I should plan to hit with a free day?

Thanks, I’ll lurk & listen.

Likely fall golf rates up at Kohler which is an hour away…

Here is Oct. 29 last year on the Irish:

Thanks and great pics! This opens up so many questions, which I’m sure have all been covered already… If I have time for 36 up there, which courses to play?

Well as luck would have it a definitive back to back x10 ranking was just published yesterday.

The rates get progressively cheaper as you get into twilight times. I think we paid $80 with a cart at the Irish late afternoon and we were fighting the sunset. That pic is on 17.

I completely missed this, thanks for sharing. Also @djpie good lord man, this is awesome.

Take it from the man himself

just started reading this, what horrible pace of play by the first group off at Whistling! if the first group was off at 7, they played 9 holes 10 minutes slower so 2:36. can’t start the day moving that slow.

resort course, i know. but goodness what a problem that is.

It’s going to be hit or miss in late October as far as enjoyment of playing goes if you’re from a more Southern state. But if you’re willing to wear a couple of layers, you should be fine almost no matter what.

Kohler is obviously a great shout by @mikedabomb

Otherwise, the Milwaukee County muni courses are pretty darn good. Highlighted by Brown Deer, of course. People in the thread kind of shit on the non resident rate of Brown Deer, but I think it’s still a very good golf course.

Coming from CO, grew up in MI. I’m all set on layers as needed. My sicko brain has now gone from “it’d be fun to get 18 in” to “hmmm… I wonder if I can get 36 in and make it back to MKE for the show?”

@mofo313 - Home course for me and would be happy to sherpa and try to talk them into letting you on with my county card rate. My success rate on that is about 40%.

36 might be tough given daylight considerations and you’d be looking at something like Irish and Straits in the same day. Straits is still not cheap even with fall golf rates and I have no idea what the replay situation is when you’re already under a slashed rate.

Who are you seeing?
