Roll Call: Wisconsin - Madison vs Milwaukee

I could possibly get talked into this. I also wouldn’t mind playing Eagle Springs while I’m over in that area.

We are your welcoming northern neighbors - any and all that are interested are able to partake…

Who knows - if there is enough participation from both states, we can set up a showdown or a mixed event

I feel this. Wedding planning for 11/'24 is already taking a toll on my '23 golf budget

We are visiting venues this week, rip what is left of my pocket book.

The venue isn’t the part that gets expensive. The food and booze get expensive quick and comes kinda all at once.

It is when you go with a venue that has their own catering company and includes the food/bev

But yeah, as the football analysts say, a lot of chunk yardage

I got married at that kind of venue, so I’m aware how it all can work. I also didn’t need to pay for the food and booze until very close to the actual event. Hell, if a venue is making you pay for the food right away, before you pick anything else, probably a good time to find a different venue.

We’re doing our wedding in July '24 so one positive is availability, but the golf budget for '23 is tough

Date doesn’t fit for me (well, end of Apr thru May all booked annually now) but I will tempt you and this thread come fall shoulder sesson after the '23 summer dust settles.

I have three weddings between September and October and I’m standing in two. Not sure how much money I’ll have for Erin Hills or to even live.

Brother! I have to travel to California for one, NYC for the other. My wife and I may never financially recover.

enjoy wedding season while it lasts.

Confirmed. Now its “we’ll just leave early and drive home” vs “hotel and when is late checkout.”
And “I’ll walk Erin Hills tomorrow.”

Any MKE recs for meeting the Wis parents while bringing a 6 mo old, 1:30ish on Sat? Coming from Chicago. Good beer, good food. May pitch Eagle Park or Good City Deer District but more creative welcome.

Tomorrow is Marquette - Wisconsin, wouldn’t suggest Deer District. Good City East Side may be a better deal

3rd Street Market Hall has space for the little one to stretch out.

Oh great to know. They have Wis vball tix so need somewhat timely.

It’s a bit farther but Good City has a spot in Wauwatosa that would allow you to avoid downtown…though MKE downtown is nothing like Chicago

Edit to add: I have also seen many families at Eagle Park in Muskego

Stopped in 'tosa this fall and great rec. Comparable time from northside Chicago.

Never done Eagle Park Muskego and looking.

Recs so far are good but I’d like to throw in the relatively new North Avenue Market as well, just a short drive west from downtown. Big, indoor open space with a centralized bar that has local vendors all along the sides of the main floor and an additional few downstairs. Posted some chicken sandwiches from there in this thread about a week or so ago.

Turns out they have a website!
