Co-sign West Seattle. Great views of downtown Seattle off the back nine. More of a “let’s crush some tall boys” kinda course, but it’s in really good condition and there are some really fun holes. The boys will have a great time.
An hour south is the Home Course. Yes, it’s a drive. But it is links style and WIDE open. The casual golfer will like not losing many balls there.
Snohomish, also about 30 min from Seattle, is a fun muni as well.
But as Justin notes, the stuff in Seattle proper is either private or crap.
And relatedly, I know this is a long shot, but anyone in the Walla Walla area on here? I am making a last minute run to Bandon this weekend and thinking about stopping on the way over on Friday afternoon. Would love to be able to find someone to play with.
Seattle folks and PNW Crew! I’m way early on this, but I’ll be making a solo trip to Seattle and North Cascades NP end of July/early August. It’ll be a golf and hiking trip. I’ve heard great things about Gold Mountain, and obvi Chambers. My hesitation w/ Chambers is that I’ve had some poor recent experiences booking as a single and getting some awful pairings. I hate paying that kind of money, only to have the experience be ruined by some bad humans.
I’ll be flying in Friday 7/25 and would be available for an afternoon round, and also Saturday 7/26 and Sunday 7/27.
Would anyone like to join? I haven’t booked lodging, so I’m flexible on where I stay for that weekend. Feel free to message me directly, if so.
Chambers rounds are not quite bookable yet for the folks who are members (without the hefty prepayment) so I imagine one of us will be looking to get out that weekend as prep for OP5 in a couple weeks after this. Should open up towards the end of the month unless I don’t understand the way they have decided to do summer bookings this year.
I know there’s someone down in the Palouse! I’m blanking on the username like a dick, though. Hopefully they see this!
I’m in the Seattle area, but grew up in Spokane and if we plan far enough out in advance, I’m always looking for a reason to head back that way specifically for golf.
