I mean… I’m down
We’ve got some Glen Echo members in here
You guys gotta take me out there when it gets nice again. I want to check it out.
Love me some Glen Echo
Any members want to DM me? I’m considering a CC membership in STL and am interested in Glen Echo. After caddying there for years as a kid, it’d be great to play on a day besides a Monday.
Would love to make it, I have an uncle who is on the grounds crew and I always miss the “family” day.
Would love to see Glen Echo have heard good things. Also second Strapped STL would nice to see the area get some attention. Would love to get some people together an afternoon round at Ruth.
Yes. The Refuge does need to have a golf course.
Thinking about playing a round monday morning/mid day anybody interested?
Where are you thinking of playing?
Was probably gonna hit up gateway but I’m open to suggestions
Forest park, highlands, Gateway, Annbrier.
Would be a sick Strapped and easily do able for $500.
That’s what I’m saying. Plus barbecue.
And good beer - Rockwell, 4hands, UCBC, Schlafly. And people, of course. But nobody would want to give us credit for that.
And non bbq food. That list would take me longer to ramble out. Happy Friday all!
I’d even donate all the Ski those guys could drink in a weekend.
And since there’s not a ton of historical, accessible, and cheap golf here, I think they should also consider Tamarack, although I’m a bit biased since I live close by. 1965 Pete Dye that’s a far cry from its original state, but as the kids say “has good bones”.
Is the St. Louis golf expo worth it? Thinking of going today
Depends… if you want to try some new clubs, there’s a spot to rip into some nets and its good to see many of the manufacturers new lines. Otherwise its mostly a bunch of vendors pushing used clubs and overstocked apparel. If you are interested in doing some shopping, suggest going before close Sunday for the best deals. Vendors unlikely to cut deals with 2+ days of expo’ing left!
I went against your advice and went Friday and it was awesome. I was able to get a new ping Hoofer bag for $125. Lots of good stuff there though if you are on the fence I say go for it. Tons of used clubs and merch and you might stumble upon a gem.
Well, put me down for a double! Glad you found some great buys early, and it seems I’ll be adjusting my approach going forward!
On the Forest Park topic - anyone planning to play in the “Beads & Birdies” 3-man on Saturday (2/15)? I’d love to meet some other Refugees out there!
