Glad to not hear of anything catastrophic in here. Drove through forest park today and it is truly a wild scene. But also remarkable that the maintenance crews have all the roads open and the amount of progress that was already made. Also left there feeling lucky that the area was a park and not a housing development…
Our match is booked for 9am at Crystal Highlands on the 25th. Two spots open for anyone that wants to hop on their site and grab them.
There’s a few drone shots of FPGC on this video.
Adding screen-shots for those who don’t have social media.
I just read that the highlands driving range has already reopened. Incredible stuff considering what they have to clean up.
That side of the park didn’t get hit as hard as the side close to skinker Hawthorne and redbud are pretty messed up I didn’t get a good look at dogwood yesterday when I was driving through the park
Hope everyone is safe and ok. I’m in Webster and the storm seemed to be some darkness and some wind for about 20 minutes but I did not expect to find out that Forest Park and North of the park got an actual tornado and significant damage.
Has anyone played Quail Creek recently? Any idea on how their course is looking? I think I remember hearing that the newest ownership group was really putting in effort to get it back up to decent standards.
Eagle Knoll was in what I would call ok shape. The fairways were pretty shaggy, but there weren’t many bare spots. There were still grass clippings in the fairways but didn’t look like they had mowed for at least a few days. The tee boxes were in ROUGH shape though, and I even played the blue tees which don’t get as much play as the whites. The rough was THICCC and the greens putted true, although like just about anywhere anymore riddled with pitch marks. I’d give it probably a C grade. I don’t know if I would make the trip from STL for it in its current condition tbh.
I played QC for the first time last year, half the fairways were dead, tee boxes were dead/weeds, greens were not pleasant.
I assume it would need a momentous effort and a willing super to get that place into really playable shape, my assumption would be it still stinks this year.
It didn’t even make the official list so that’s something.
TBH, I thought it shut down years ago
It did for a period of time in 2022.
Also, that list may need some updating. Far Oaks renovated the bunkers and was in great shape this spring, and from what we’ve heard from others in this thread Aberdeen is complete ass.
God I forgot how bleak this thing is.
What’s the general census on Lockhaven in Grafton? Interested to try it, plus I’m a sucker for taking the Grafton ferry.
It will be updated when I damn well feel like it.
Because I can’t find the original file damnit
Played Landings this weekend. CPO as is tradition. Needed a mow and one of the par fives was turned into a par three since they are trying to fix some drainage on the fairway. Greens were good at least.
I decided to try it out today for a nooner. If you want to play off of grass, aim for the rough. Otherwise this may as well be a dirt track for rally cars or dirt bikes. However, the greens were basically immaculate except for maybe 1 or 2 holes where there was a blemish. It was shocking how clean they were.
I had two tee times for this week at Forest Park and they both just got cancelled without prompting or explanation. I assume they are shutting the course down to recover. I’m an arcis member and haven’t got an email. I tried to rebook and there is nothing available all week.
*sorry if this was in a previous post.
If I’m missing the sarcasm, I’m sorry, but are we really worried about a couple tee times at FP this week? Like a explanation was required?
