Roll Call: South Carolina Golfers

I’m not from stinky stinky Cola but Motor Supply is fantastic so I’ll add to that recommendation

Add Mr Friendly’s to that list. My favorite in Columbia

They rebooked my Caledonia round for Friday at 2:30, but I wouldn’t have gotten back to Charleston until close to 8. That wouldn’t have worked, so I cancelled both.

A couple hours later, I decided to quit being butthurt and booked True Blue for 8 am.

I’ll get to play some golf on this trip after all.

Good choice. Give a holler next trip and we’ll get the Muni and schedule the rain to suit.

Hall’s Chophouse…but ask to go to the back bar and eat there.
Cantina 76
New Korean BBQ place on Main (MOA?)
Blue Marlin
Il Georgina on Devine (casual Italian)

Yes! Maybe the most underrated spot in Columbia.

Did all the Southern Belly locations in Columbia close? Warmouth is fun, same for No Name Deli or Andy’s both for the history. Making me homesick.

The pickle platter. Yum.

True Blue is really good.

Saluda’s and Backstreets are an Uber for you, but great options as well.

We’re doing Hendrix tonight, looking forward to it. We’ll try something else tomorrow! Sunday I will hopefully be full on pimento cheese and ice cream sandwiches.

I had heard the greens were in really bad shape 3 weeks ago. Sounds like things have improved.

Hey Chris, added you to the group. Should have access to the PGS area where we keep all the info

Also, the PGS now has the market cornered on “csquared” refuge handles

Far in advance but planning for 2 rounds for July. Got to be in Beaufort early on a Saturday morning and then heading back to TN. trying to figure out where to play 2 solid rounds, anywhere from there to Aiken is on my way back home. Don’t know that area of the state as well. Any recommendations?

Looking at the map Aiken GC is all that comes to mind. We love it over there. Maybe guys that live closer to that path can provide more ideas.

Anyone know if Charleston Municipal has a serviceable set of lefty rental clubs? Phone calls are routed to the 5th circle of hell in their phone system, and I’m not too hopeful that my emails will be returned.

I’m fairly certain their rentals are as old as most of us unless they’ve updated them recently(which I doubt). I’m pretty sure David Ayers in Mt Pleasant has daily rentals. I’d imagine they have good options even for lefty’s. It’s a great golf shop

I was gonna suggest hitting up Ayers for demo clubs but yea they probably don’t do Driver through putter demo loans.
