These Exist
The Cong(Boiling, Woodward) - Early Oct 2022 - 2 day match play event
OKC Mashie Meet-up (Stewie Nat, OKC) - simple 4 club challenge, easy to set up and replicate.
The R4Ball w/DFW (Dornick Hills, Ardmore) - rebranded as a Fourball event. Location not confirmed.

Other easy ideas, lets try to pick at least 2

  • Tulsa Mashie Meet-up
  • Par 3s, LaFortune Tulsa, JRs OKC (both w/lights)
  • Golfer’s Journal Event
  • Use other existing local event with public access.
  • go to neighboring roost’s event(DFW/KC)

SEASON LONG RACE
Will determine priority for Regional+ events.

Season Stableford Quota (below is the vision, mock up)
General idea is to promote getting together and playing golf with a competitive mind.

  • Minimum 10 rounds. GHIN entered. Attested by member of Nest. Round can be played anywhere on this Earth. S/O @jandywlu , our National Member!
  • Best 10 rounds cumulative quota score taken
  • Quota point bonuses for 20+ rounds played. GHIN entered. Attested by Nest member.
  • Quota point bonuses in “Major” quota events. I.e. once/month gathering of 8+ logging rounds to the rules above.
  • could take it further; use standings for playoff race. I.e. top 4 engage in a final four style tourney.
  • all needs to be done by July (assuming end of the month for now).

Hillcrest was so good. I’m jealous of those of you who get to play it regularly.

I was a little sad, though, seeing pictures of the old clubhouse compared to what is there now.

hillcrest is impressive. They have at least 3 tough/short par 4s, which are one of my favorite things on a golf course.

Our clubhouse, specifically the locker room, is truly embarrassing when you get the chance to see how great some of them are at other area clubs (looking at you Golf Club of Oklahoma). Glad you enjoyed the course though, it is a treat and they do such a great job at maintaining it. I have a few complaints about some holes specifically, but they’re starting another winter tree removal which I love to see

I’m always around and can usually play during the week. February might be suspect on weather but also might catch a 40-50° day.

That was my next question - what’s the weather like in Feb. I’m used to in being cold, wet and miserable here in London, so not too bothered about that. just wasn’t sure if you get snow there in Feb.

I’m over to film something for a company on the 8th, 9th & 10th but have a rest day on the 7th and 11th and will fly home most likely late on the 12th. Hoping to get some knocks in around then and would absolutely love to meet up with Homs of you after chatting in here for 3 years!

Usually snow fall is minimal. It’s a complete crapshoot on what weather will be. There’s usually at least a day or two every week that is playable year round.

There’s a TopGolf knock off that has heated bays. And one of our better bbq places in the same complex. Would be a good dinner/golf combo if the weather isn’t cooperating.
