If this is who I think it is based on the helicopter, howdy neighbor!
I am who you think I am haha. Sad to see youāre relocating soon though
@AlfredAdler and I got out last Saturday at LaFortune. He knocked down some birdies and shot what he claims is his best round ever.
I very much ācouldnāt make any puttsā but it was a very enjoyable time.
The rumors are true. +2 through 13, then had my most Icarito-esque finish going +4 through the last 5 for a sneaky tied-PB 78.
Couldnāt have asked for a better day out there!
I went the other way during the LMGA Low Net on Sunday - yanked 2 OB onto the range on #1, then another onto the range on #2. 47 on the front, then hit 8/9 greens and shot 37 on the back with a double bogey on 12 (yanked another into that swamp/pond/trash).
Needless to say, being +7 through 3 holes is not how you win a low net championshipā¦
God, manā¦some of my tee shots on 12 keep me up at night. Great work to pull together a 37 on the back!
Man I was a out there a day early! I played Friday morning, the rain ran people off and it was pretty empty.
Will be playing with my FIL Sunday morning at LaFortune at 7:40am, have room for two more if anyoneās free!
I havenāt played any of the Tulsa munis since Covid but this Saturday some friends are in town so weāre playing Olde Page early. How has pace of play been with how packed the courses are? And are they still enforcing the single cart rule?
New guy here, but been lurking for awhile. OKC based. Quick question for you all, anyone else hear any rumors about a renovation/restoration going on soon at Dornick? Iāve only heard rumors and wondered if yāall have heard anything. Canāt lie itās sounding pretty cool though.
Played the Stone Creek course one weekend this summer at Page, highly recommend it. Was a bit slow on the front but picked up pace on the back as groups and solos merged.
āAre they going public?ā I feel so strapped. Haha. Edit : welcome!
I heard from a pretty reliable source that Tom Doak is being considered for a reno/resto. If so, that would put it on a level with SH and OKC
Okay, Iād always seen what heād said in the confidential guide about Dornick/restoring pro bono, and then I saw he was there recently, along with the rumors it was kinda hard not to try to connect the dots there. Really looking forward to this if it comes to fruition.
Hey there, I will be working around OKC for a few weeks towards the end of October. Any great public tracks that I should hit up or any suggestions for me while Iām in the area?
Only one Iāve played down there was Kickingbird and it was a damn good time.
100% you should play both courses at Lincoln Park. Trosper and Stewart are both hidden gems that happen to be in good shape right now as well.
OKC also has the Earlywine courses. Similar to Lincoln Park, a 36 hole facility. Earlywine north is a solid track, challenging. South course is the easier, less dynamic track. Lake Hefnerās course are also worth looking into, another 36 hole facility. If youāre open to a small drive south to Norman, OUās course, Jimmie Austin, is a fantastic Perry Maxwell. $125-ish rack rate. Holler if you are interested in Jimmie, I might be able to join you and get you on for the faculty rate/$65
Whatās up yāall.
Headed down to Grand Lake this weekend for a last minute bachelor party. Coming down from KC first thing Thursday morning and looking to play a round with my best man that afternoon. Would love to play somewhere in the Tulsa area if there is something really worth it. Otherwise, might check out Shangri La.
Any advice would be helpful!
Peoria Ridge in Miami is a good bet if you donāt want that Shangri La price tag sticker shock. Or Eagle Creek in Joplin. Also not as far a drive as coming all the way to Tulsa.
Tulsa probably doesnāt have anything public worth the drive. Private on the other hand; SH, Tulsa CC, Cedar Ridge, The Patriot, The Oaks and GC of OK are all worth the trip.
