BTW if you don’t have a tee time by now for Sunday may God have mercy on your souls. Everywhere is booked.
Still two for Shawnee Sunday. You’re right, it’s packed everywhere.
Things I was going to do this weekend: golf
Things I’m now going to do this weekend: Put my basement back together after our hot water heater decided to quit and leak all over the basement.
Also, we are at 26 paid for the FIndlay event, if you’re signed up and not paid please go ahead and do so. Also, I’m already scared to death to introduce myself to so many people who’s names I don’t know. Lots of the “hey i don’t know you nice to meet you” and it turns into them being at the event two years in a row. Fuck.
Yay 26 paid already.
Is it just me, or are a ton of golf courses charging cart fees whether or not the player chooses to walk? I’ve been browsing GolfNow and individual course websites, and lots of the places near me don’t give an option for a walking price. It’s sad.
Example: Brown’s Run. Easily walkable golf course. Charges $50something, including a cart fee, across the board. Twin Run is doing the same all of a sudden.
Calling the course is always the way to go. I use the web to browse times and then I call to reserve. Booking on the web usually shows fees for carts and not walking.
If anyone’s interested, give me a holler.
I’ll have to wait until Monday to see if I could have those days off work, but I was just talking to my boss today about how I still have 5 more days I need to burn before August and no idea when I’ll take them
What’s the cost for the trip
Golf
Sunday: The Course at Sewanee $75
Monday: Sweetens Cove $125 (all day w/cart)
Tuesday: Park Mammoth $75
Food
Everything is booked except for the Sewanee round. I think my room is between $150 and $200 for a single.
EDIT: Yes, $187 for two nights at the Clarion Pointe Kimball.
Hey fellow humans in Ohio!
I’m planning a trip for Columbus at the end of the month.
Looking to golf March 28th-30th (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 18 holes a day
Although I know it’s a long shot, my step dad is a die hard OSU fan and I would love to surprise him and get him on the Scarlet course.
Outside of that, what courses would you guys recommend? TIA!
Good luck on scarlet. It’s always tough and I refuse to donate to get to play out there.
I know a couple of guys in here coach or coached HS golf.
Been helping JV for 3 years, mainly to keep the JV squad a thing for my nephew.
One of them is a Junior now. He was struggling to break 70 on 9 as a freshman, and still routinely shooting in the 60s last summer. We really worked on course management and short game last fall. That’s really the only thing I feel qualified to teach. He’s been grinding all winter, and went out an shot 40 and beat me +1 this afternoon. I dug myself a hole on 1, and he never let me get up off the mat.
Pretty damn cool.
Couldn’t hurt to call Scarlet and ask about getting out, not likely but you never know. Besides getting lucky the only way to get on for you guys would be to be a guest of a member or alumni. As for other courses to check out if your willing to drive 30 minutes + outside the outerbelt Denison Golf Club in Granville is a great track.
Sorry. Don’t you have to donate as an alumni or can I just call them?
I quit donating when my alum tickets were in the last row of the stadium two years in a row. I’ve donated enough while in school hahah.
Alumni can play 6 times per year with no donation, to my understanding. Alums are automatically a member of alumni org. Just need to show proof at check in. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong. Anyone can donate $1500 and get access 6 times
Ok so when are we playing Scarlett?
Shit I’m just finding out I could play there. Let me figure it out. I’ll tell you now, It fucking sucks. Lunch will be eaten hahaha.
Buddies dad’s a starter but I never take him up on going out. Guess I need to change that. Haven’t played there since college.
On that note. Hell of a deal. It was 240 a semester for all you could golf.
Pretty sure you’re right, I think they changed the structure of the alumni association within the last five years or so. Any alumni can make a tee time but it’s generally fighting for the scraps after members.
