For how hard sleepy can be and the greens being infuriating at times it’s still golf in a park. How mad can you get?

Quick shoutout to @Conley76, @Racole212 and @wreckhockey for putting it on the line in Canada at the Roost Regional.

Rob put the team on his back out there on a legit challenging course on a seriously hot day, doing his absolute best to will us to Sweetens. Unfortunately Fresh Coast boat raced everyone.

My barely-animated carcass offered next to nothing for the team after I missed every putt low (or high!) and found multiple divots on tee shots. One of those days where you get absolutely nothing out of good shots.

Long day but a fun day

I echo @PlumbBobMillionaire , quite a tight little course but I also did not bring my best. I know this will come as a shock to everyone, but I did not make a putt over 7 feet all day. I kept the 3-putts off the card, but that was about the only highlight of the day. But we all had fun, right?

Some of the most batshit insane fairway bunkering I’ve seen as well.

“Oh you want to hit it away from that tree hanging over the fairway? Cool well that’s where we have three fairway bunkers.”

Hanging over the fairway….meaning, a 150ft tall tree that covers 4/5ths of the fairway, and forces you to try to keep the ball stinger-low on a par 5

Let’s put 1 bunker 225 on the left and another 235 on the right! That should be fun, right?

The more I think about that course, the angrier I get that the bunkering goes from a cool feature and challenge to it playing like you should hit 6 iron off every tee because the treats have gotten so out of control. Hell, two of the par 3’s I hit solid shots with my normal ball flight, but the trees are so overgrown from the left that even a tiny bit of fade puts you off the green and into some trees

Well since we didn’t win, one of the other captains down south is presenting this. Some version of a losers bracket. If we can field 4/8/12 guys that would want to represent Ohio in 4 man teams they are thinking about putting something together for first weekend in October. This is from @RangerB out of Peachtree Collective.

Met with the owner/operator at The Fields yesterday and he’s way on board. Course was probably the best all around conditioned I’ve ever seen it in 5 years and will be stunting this fall. We’ll give it till (8/16) for Roosts to commit a team to green light the event. If the event happens, you can signup by end of the month. I’ll move this to an event thread if we get the teams for it to happen.

Event: The Slaughterhouse : a Roost Team Tournament
Fee: $200 per player - that’s golf, 5 meals, a tournament prize pool (no tee gifts, any excess funds in the budget can go to the beer fund or bigger prize pool)
Where: The Fields Golf Club - Lagrange GA (golf course is about 1 hour from ATL airport)
When: Oct 5 & 6
Format: IDK, lot of tournament minds we can figure that out together: Based on the field I guess.
Golf: Saturday 8:30 or 9 start - can play all day. 36 holes hopefully
Sunday 8:30 or 9 start - 18 Holes
Food: Course will provide Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - Saturday and Breakfast & Lunch Sunday… They have a bar but no kitchen, they source it all from local spots.
Where to stay: Can stay in ATL Friday night if you want. Course can get us a deal at the local Wyndham $75-100 a night. Lagrange has the gambit of hotel chains. You can also camp next to #10 tee box for free.

Oh man, I think I’d be in for that if I can sort out the travel aspect of it

If you know who this person is, be sure to hit them about the head several times with a pitching wedge

So many angry thoughts on this but I’ll stick to the most obvious. Fuck your ball, don’t trespass on people’s property. Respect the lines.

I’ve played Chardon Lakes several times, struggling to remember where you encounter houses? I only remember the house by 18.

Seeing the No Show and WD’s at Camargo mid am today just made me so much more sad that I didn’t get my spot in line secured.

Surely this asshat can be identified by his ugly polo and course security footage…

How does a neighbor see it and not capture/report it or confront the group?

Some people just aren’t as quick on the draw with their phones, maybe they’re one of the olds. And thinking critically, if that dude assaulted a dog, he’s probably got it in him to assault a human too. The course really should be able to narrow it down to a window of 3-4 groups though, and then I start making calls/checking footage.

Check the tee sheet and confirm time with the neighbor and you’d probably be able to identify the possible groups pretty quickly.
