With full restorations sleepy and Kiki could charge non Ohio residents $100+ no problem. I have played so many times with people who traveled in to play them. With some work done to get them back to their golden age glory, even more people would make the trip

Those courses are very tough walks, so thatās tricky. I would say probably 1/2 - 3/4 of the people who play Manakiki on hot summer day are physically not capable of walking that course. Could be a real shrink the game situation

Played The Lakes Golf and Country Club yesterday in a charity outing, it was in fantastic condition and immediately jumped up to my favorite course that Iāve played in Central Ohio.
Very fun layout, great green complexes, definitely somewhere I could play every day and not get tired of it.

Iām on the record as against a full restore of Manakiki or Sleepy. Donāt get me wrong, itād be sick for us nerds. But Iād rather see whatever that would cost spread out across all the MetroParks courses. And Iād for sure love to see a short course/putting course/practice facility first.

Manakiki really needs some tree thinning and fairway expansion. The fairway on 2 and 13 are about 8 yards wide now

That is very cool looking. The cart path over there always is the biggest issue for me. Not the path itself necessarily, but they had to build up a flat area on that slope and it made the slope even more intense if your ball runs through the fairway. Which is does very very easily. Nothing like hitting a nippy wedge of a hanging lie at 7:30 in the morning after what should have been a quality drive.

This snuck up on me. I had a member ask me to volunteer with him but I lost track of the dates. I canāt wait to watch.
If I were still living in Dayton I would have been there every day volunteering. Any chance to spend time at that course is worth it.
They have a number of auctions coinciding with the Wester Am. Interested to scroll through if nothing else.
