Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) 2025 Major now official

I think he’s saying this is the format for the regional. Championship will probably still be the one I told you (because it benefits the teams that bring all low caps….)

90% cap

Kinda feel…

EDIT — Like hitting the post button too early

What I was attempting to say before an itchy thumb got the best of me…

Kinda feels like a fairly late time to change standards especially ones our entire Roost qualified under. We’re still going to freaking win

Any chance someone in our group some what close to Dayton has experience changing out a shaft on a putter and could give me a hand?

Yeah I just did that 2 weeks ago. Simple as pulling the old installing the new?

Yeah got one of those fancy bgt shafts for cheap from a guy and wanna see what all of the fuss was about. Ordered a new grip to put on the new shaft today.

So the concern about that would be cutting the tip section to the right size. It’s a 2 piece thing right?

Correct but i think the guy said with tip it’s 38in, which I would be ok with. Don’t know if that’s necessarily true though

As long as the whole thing is glued up and you don’t have to mess with adjusting where the steel part meets the graphite it’s very straightforward. However I don’t trim graphite. You’d want to take it to golf galaxy or golf exchange and get it cut to length after installation

Anyone here have a format for a game with a big group on a par 3 course. I never like just birdies counting, like putting some pressure around everything.

Closest to the pin and longest putt are always options.

If you wanted every shot to matter more than the birdie count, you could do birdie count and least number of bogies count. That way people would be less likely to try and ram that 15 footer in because if they miss they’d have 6 feet coming back.

Depending on the variety of skill levels too you could make those net or gross or both. You could also make it a percentage of handicap if you did net too.

Seconded. An underrated, underutilized wrinkle.

Anyone play Shawnee Hills recently? I played it Friday afternoon and the greens were the worst I’ve ever seen on a MetroParks course. Number 4 is just one big dead spot. A few others were covered in dead spots. First time maybe ever I was really disappointed in a MetroParks course. I know we’ve had basically no rain, but to have a third of the greens nearly unplayable was a tough scene.

To all Ohioans (? That doesn’t seem right but I’m going with it) I’m in Columbus for the weekend with my wife and dog for a concert at the Bluestone and from the day an a half we’ve been here, just want to say how lovely and awesome it is. Cheers!

Ohio gets a bad rap from our loudest and dumbest citizens, many of whom are politicians. It’s not that bad overall!

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the walkability and information provided. It’s been awesome. Going to stop by Cincy tomorrow for some Skyline on the way home to Bama.

I’d recommend trying Blue Ash Chilli. Not that far out of the way coming down 71.

I’ll sample some for sure.
