Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) 2025 Major now official

They’ve done it in Cleveland for a number of years

Highly recommend the Sub Par interview with him. For a Buckeye from Pittsburgh (double oof) he comes off as a very likable guy. However they didn’t ask him about the note, which I’d still like to know what that was all about.

I believe he’s addressed it in other interviews and he said there was no note at all, which is why he seemed so confused.

I thought the reporter was insisting there was a note but Augusta told him not to discuss it for some reason. That was my very uninformed understanding.

Knowing Tiger it was probably another tampon or something dumb and Shipley is too embarrassed to say it.

Interesting. I can see the land in that area having the potential for another strong course, but it’d be a real hike for a very large majority of the city’s clientele for a “high-end private club.”

Southern Ohio has too many private clubs. Let us poors play!

when they asked the am about this I assumed he just lied and said there was no note because it was Tiger and didn’t want to spill the beans

I’m assuming this is “high end” like the Tree Farm or Ohopee, and not something to compete with the existing high end clubs.

I had heard he was looking at some property around Kentucky Speedway. This is actually closer to CVG which doesn’t seem possible.

That kind of club would be an interesting twist!

This space isn’t close to CVG. It’d be roughly equidistant to something around the Speedway (35-40 minutes) north of the river. It is a little closer to Lunken though if guis with PJs can land there.

Meant to say closer.

There is a property south of the track that is about 150 acres that has been looked at for golf too. I think that was one of the parcels he looked at.

I’ve also heard people have looked at buying a lot of parcels north of the track for something like Big Cedar. Not sure people want to part with their river front property.

How about the building tucked back in the woods, just south of that pic? Was thinking it was a monster house, but zooming in the structure looks like it could be a clubhouse and parking lot

2 spots open for 4:20 pm at Oberlin Friday. @ThuggishJingoism24 and I will be playing a match. $50 to walk

I am struggling to see how destination golf would be even remotely possible in this area.

Couple of guis in @Gobrownies09 and I’s league got a sneak peek of the front on Monday and said it was looking awesome. Also I shot a 41 on the back that day. NBD

That was my thought as well. Building a high end public course makes some sense, as there arent many in Ohio. Could possible get more traction at Stonelick as well if you paired it with another course.

But I have a hard time believing people are joining a high end destination club in Cincinnati, and I dont think many in Cincinnati are looking for a new club to join thats 40 minutes outside the city.

Regardless, im still excited to follow. He did a really great job with Stonelick

I’m curious what about the area specifically doesn’t work?

If the land and execution is good, it just seems like a high end destination course can work anywhere now. Mullen, NE or Deer Lodge, MT don’t exactly scream destination resorts, but San Hills and Rock Creek Cattle Co certainly seem to be doing fine.

I know absolutely nothing about the land and what is achievable there, but the availability of private travel for the segment of the population that can afford it (and high end destination golf) seems to have opened up a ton of possibilities.

You have any info you could pass along on the league? I live near Manakiki and was hoping to get involved in a league.
