According to Mark they’re doing “minimal” maintenance this fall. New super. Not sure what that means specifically, but that was his response when I asked when they are aerating.

Attention @NorthStarUnited and everyone else who doesn’t get tagged in that - once again, I’m way too lazy to perform a full audit of that list.

Let’s sell some NSS raffle tickets. We’re going $10 apiece this year - simply donate directly to childrenscancer.org and post the screenshot here (or DM it to myself, @kcurry11, or @BigTex). One of the three of us will update the sheet with your tickets. Not required, but if you want to put in North Star United as the Honoree it is easier to track on CCRF’s end.

Hello @NorthStarUnited and everyone else who doesn’t get a tag under that group - there are way too many names for me to fully audit the list.

Only about a month until the 6th(!) annual North Star Shootout. Finally have some details available here for your consideration:

When: Sunday, September 7, 2025
Where: Keller Golf Course
What: 36 holes net stroke play
Why: Fun with Internet golf friends, also our Major (NIT qualifier)
Cost: $25 deposit paid on signup to Cap @kcurry11 + $140 paid at course - includes all golf, cart, and tee gift

Format and Kyle’s Fun Tees™️ will be similar to last year. The major difference is we are not renting the entire course this year in an effort to keep costs down. We’ll go off split tees in the morning starting at about 7:30, then all off the front in the afternoon around 1, with public play in the gaps. This also means, unfortunately, that we probably won’t have any opportunity for bonus golf after the event. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

In order for that to work, we need to give the course final numbers by Saturday, 8/30, so the hard registration deadline is Friday, 8/29. Any signups after that day will be wait listed and we’ll have to keep a strict one out, one in policy after that point.

Quick updates: Raffle tickets ARE on sale (see above) but we’ve only sold 31 - those are rookie numbers, let’s get those numbers up.

We currently have 17 raffle prizes available, which isn’t bad but I know we can do better.

We currently have 7 or 8 hole sponsors, plenty of room for more!

Let’s raise some money for CCRF and finish strong in the final week.

Labor Day Update:

Registration is locked and loaded with a field of 64, which is pretty great for a tough Sunday scheduling. Any late adds at this point will go to the wait list. Contact @kcurry11 with interest.

Raffle ticket sales are up nicely over last week, with 120 sold ($1,200) thus far. I’m going to run the drawing live over Teams on Thursday, 9/4, so you’ve got a few more days to get in on the action. Will drop a link here and in Discord shortly before.

We currently have ELEVEN hole sponsors, up from 5 last year. If you’re sponsor-curious shoot me a DM - could be a company sponsor, individual, or completely anonymous if you want to contribute to the donation total but not by purchasing raffle tickets, for example.

I’ll see many of you in 6 days!
