There is a chance… won’t be able to confirm until week of though
@LonnieMollo any shot you can join us?!
Unfortunately I’ll be playing grass golf in AZ that weekend. Sorry!
@otafukusauce you know you want to play!!!
@craigta you gonna pick some cherries?!?!
Any chance you can join us?!
Would love to, just bad timing. Wife is on her XC ski girls weekend so I’m on kid duty!

I’m going to be on vacation during the week and I’m sure I’ll be all golfed out.
No worries dude! Have a happy Holliday!
Bumping the list as we approach 2026!
Looks like we have 13 signed up.
It would be awesome if we got to 16. I have enough bays booked for 20 players but 16 would be perfect!
Hope everyone has a happy new year!!!
Happy New Year @NorthStarUnited! As you contemplate your life choices of living in Minnesota take solace in the fact that we keep the sim events coming at a rapid clip. You will certainly be ready for more golf after the high of the Cherry Pick 'Em so sign up for more!
Showdown at Sweetens
Date: 1/29/26
Location: Eden Indoor Golf Club
Time: 5-11PM Drop in Anytime!
Cost: $25 - Including Pizza!
We have the space rented out for the whole time. There will be 2 bays of golf and Pickleball happening this whole time. Equipment for Pickleball is provided. Event cost includes as much golf and pickelball as you want to play during that time. I will also have Hedgies pizzas cooking throughout the night. Feel free to bring your own Beer, Booze or any NA drinks.
Golf Format: 2 Man Teams of Best Ball. You can loop as much as you want to feel free to switch up partners and take as many shots at the title as you want. Results from this event will be considered as important for the Roost Regional Team as the Dell Match Play is for the Ryder Cup. I’m sure @kcurry11 will be watching closely.
I will be there the whole time but the idea of this event is its a drop in event and stay as long as you want. Come right after work or after the kids are in bed.

Hey gang,
Planning a trip to Giant’s Ridge for September, is there a course we should play on arrival day that is on the way up from MSP (would likely be flying here unless they add flights to Duluth)? So far, I was looking at Grand National as a decent option on the way up. But, if you guys have any better suggestions for a group that’s never been to MN and doesn’t know the golf scene there, I would be very grateful.
Not many great options unless you want to get off the beaten path a bit. Grand National is fine, Bulrush is fine (killer in-house pizza though), driving up to Cloquet has Black Bear. Highly recommend a stop at Gordy’s Hi Hat in Cloquet for the best burger, fries and shakes.
If you want to detour a little bit, you could go up to Minnesota National in McGregor.
Most will probably tell you to try to grab a tee time in the cities at somewhere like Keller or Highland National (close to the airport) before making the trek to the iron range.
Also if you don’t have golf at Wilderness at Fortune Bay on the agenda I would add it. Only 30ish minutes away from Giants Ridge.
Wilderness is on the itinerary don’t worry! thanks for the help!
Theres also a funky reversible 9 holer called Wolfridge. It’s about 30 minutes away from The Wilderness. If you have time to kill it’s pretty fun, conditions can be a little scruffy though.
I echo @StillWong and try for Minnesota National. It’s really a good example of Northern Minnesota golf and wouldn’t be too far out of the way:
Wolfridge is legitimately awesome, and is a great introduction to Northern MN golf. Just depends on what you’re looking for. Something chill and most likely 9 holes? Wolfridge is your place. A challenge? MN National. You might lose a lot of balls but it’s solid.
You won’t remember Grand National after 3 days. It’s totally fine but unmemorable.
If you go to Wolfridge, it’s reversible and the red 9 is better than the blue. Red is on even days, blue is odds
BUMP
Afternoon. I am moving back to MN soon and looking to join the Roost. Can anyone help me with that?
