Roll Call: Michigan - get out and play!

As someone who played in this last year, it was indeed wild. The approach on 9 if you play from the fairway is directly over a large tree, and the shot on 11 is under 100 yards, but also requires going directly over a tree. @Godmar very nearly drove the green on 13, threading it through the trees

you could get a good look at rackham reversed by looking at this image, but wouldn’t you rather come out and play it for yourself?

For real, it’s a great time. To fluff my ego even more, I think I hit the green or at least the fringe on #2 (to 16 green). Between that my shot on 13, probably my only good shots of the day. It was a really good time even though we got a nice mix of rain and snow and I did not prepare for conditions. Can’t wait to do this again.

I’d love to do this, but I’m so scared of golf on November 11th

What’s the worst that could happen? A thin shot with those beautiful Nike blades might sting for a minute or two, but it’s nothing a little Irish Coffee can’t clear right up

Listen, I’d need a partner too. I can be convinced…

I’m signed up as a single…

I’m really curious about playing it but also don’t have a partner…and need to double check that I’m not curling that weekend cause it’s a 50/50

I think Im going to head out to Plumbrook in Sterling Heights at about 3:30 to walk 9 holes. Short notice, but figured I’d throw it out there for anyone that might want to join.

Can’t today but one of these days I want to check that place out. The inability to make/see tee times online has always kept me going elsewhere.

Yeah it’s way behind as far as that goes. A very old school vibe all the way down to grumpy old dudes working the clubhouse, lol

Edit, I don’t have a tee time but it should be wide open right now

I like that course. not a ton to it, but when I played a few weeks back it was in good shape and it’s pretty inexpensive. If I hadn’t just left the office to come home I would absolutely have considered. If you wanna get out there in the next week or two its a really easy shot from the tech center.

re: grumpy dudes - one of my co workers called and made a tee time a few weeks back. Dude in the clubhouse was shocked, because it was still while leagues were going on. Dude outside found a spot for us but wasn’t thrilled about it.
Dude inside also charged us backwards for walking/riding and basically said “whatever, y’all figure out who owes who”

Yeah, not exactly a welcoming vibe there. Which is unfortunate. But it’s so close for me and a nice walk and it’s usually in good shape, so I endure.

yeah, and it’s far far better than maple lane. I fucking hate maple lane.

Not sure what the rest of the season really looks like, but, i’d totally be game to sneak out in the next couple weeks (next week may be tough, but, I could suffer through an in office day)

Moving to the Detroit metro this December. Looking forward to some golf with refugees if it’s active in the area :love_you_gesture:

Clawson is awesome! I moved to clawson about 10 years ago, and bought a house a few years in. Lots of great stuff going on around here!
