Looking for a few suggestions for a place to play on the way to West Branch from the Detroit area. So something near I-75 would be ideal. Any good tracks near bay city perhaps?
@cgill Lots around Saginaw. Apple Mountain best IMO. Fortress in frankmuth.
Tee times sold out at all open courses I can think to call in Grand Rapids today. God bless America and god bless global warming.
@KMo0.0 Thanks man, Apple Mountain looks legit. I think we are going to try it.
Making a weekend trip to Traverse City in June. Any recommendations for 1 course to play?
Can’t go wrong with Sundance. I really liked Charlevoix Country Club as well.
Kingsley IF you can get on.
is anyone on here playing in the dual at the loop on july 31???
I love that place. I’ve never played the dual but went up there and played for a weekend two summers ago. Would love to go back.
I officially petition this for next year as a strapped special ![]()
I think Neil is a good snowboarder in his own right, but watching the Big Guy ski would be appointment viewing
West Siders, anyone want to play the Mines on Tuesday?
The Bear if you’re looking for a nicer course.
Bahle Farms is not as pricey but nice, The Crown is right next to town and is a decent track.
Then there is Mistwood that is a half hour out and has 27 holes.
Sugar Loaf is a laid back course about a half hour out of town again, and it is “Cooler Friendly”
Not great…

Well there goes that idea.
I think they’ll still be open. Section 1-F of the executive order hits about every form of indoor recreation but doesn’t touch on outdoor recreation. 3-A is where golf clubs and country clubs get mentioned along with boating or yacht clubs.
I mention boat/yacht clubs because it would be absurd if you had a boat parked at one but couldn’t use it because the facility is closed. I think it’s just going to be limited to the dining/ bar areas.
Correct, despite the headline in the article, it has been modified to state that play on the courses may still occur.
Well damn this virus. On the latest Nest pod Randy/Neil mentioned they were going to show up to the Rackham Refuge event as a surprise and film that as the last day for Strapped Detroit. Would have loved to see what other places they chose to film at! Sounds like they will plan on rescheduling a trip here, hopefully sooner rather than later.
