1 spot open for this Friday @ 930 at Bartlett Hills w/ myself, @TCRBrad, and @baldvinny
I’ll email Bonnie tomorrow
I’m heading over to the states from Australia in August, don’t really know anyone around except my grandparents. Would be down to have a few beers and hit some big right misses at this Five Iron place you’re talking about.
I’ll see you there!
The hoodies look awesome! Anyone know how the levelwear hoodies fit? Most larges work for me, but some fit small for some reason. If anyone can provide some insight, I’d really appreciate it!
I have the Levelwear tactical hoodie in L and it fits like a L.
Second this.
So Bonnie got back pretty quick and said that date isn’t possible…
Highland Woods shot me back this today, and I’d say option 1 is pretty good.
my cousin and brother are coming in for the games friday. where do the cyclones fan go in this town?
cc: @hoiball
Murphy’s Bleachers might still be a thing with ISU, at least they fly the flag.
Based on this website, Murphys is the lone choice
Yep, Murphy’s Bleachers is the spot in Chicago. It’s pretty fun when the Cubs aren’t in season as the whole bar is usually cyclone fans plus the regulars who are wondering where all the Iowans came from. Jefferson Tap in West Loop, and Corcoran’s in Old Town would usually host game watches too, but I’m not sure they survived last year’s two win season.
Unfortunately I won’t be in attendance, relocated to the burbs this past weekend so will be looking to join @EConroy419’s recurring tee times at MP shortly.
great bar. went to Marquette with one of the current owners (son of Jim). that is all.
Bumping the scramble sign up now that Highland Woods got back to me.
For $75 you literally get golf, cart, range balls, sleeve of balls, brat/dog with chips, and a beer. On a Saturday? In the COVID golf boom world? That’s unheard of. Sign up!
If the weather sucks we could go across the street to Medieval Times
He’s not wrong.
I actually think one of the towers at Medieval Times is the ideal driving line on 14 or 15 out at Highland.
Alright Chicagolanders, seeking advice.
Wife and I are staying at Thompson Hotel in two weeks. Looking for recs within walking or short uber ride away:
Local coffee shop / good bagel or breakfast sandwich (bonus if can get both in same place)
favorite dive lunch spots
best pizza
one upscale dinner
Going to Blackhawks / Kraken on Thursday then Bulls / Hornets on Friday. Looking forward to first time in United Center. Thanks for any and all guidance. I will hold you accountable.
For restaurants: Would recommend one of: Bavette’s, gilt bar, ciccio mio. All the same restaurant group on the same block depending on where you can get a reservation. Rose Mary is west loop is also a newer place and great
Based on the area your staying nico osteria is in your hotel, fig & olive also good. 3 arts club cafe is in the restoration hardware and a very cool spot. If you’re looking for a specific cuisine feel free to dm me
I would go to aster hall for lunch, it’s a food court in the 900 n Michigan building and get small Cheval
Coffee is kind of a tough scene, but big shoulders a great choice downtown
you’re ten minutes from a Chicago Bagel Authority, my go to for breakfast. Then again I live in the suburbs so what the hell do I know.
