Played Village Links of Glen Ellyn today. Great layout, cool bunkering, would love to see what the course is like during the summer, the grass on the green seemed as long as I have ever seen anywhere, and I hear they do a really good job of keeping it in shape.
Lots and lots of water, and time its overkill, especially on 18. Short right, long right, and right in the middle of the fairway. wtf lol. And the dry landing areas arent super wide. I tried to play it safe and go left, but i just popped up my drive and watched it go like 150 then chunked my next shot into the middle pond. F

I don’t recall them being slow when I’ve played there in the summer, but I just played in the Ironman they did a week or so ago and they were SLOW. I assume it’s a winter thing.

@RealChili brought up a great point yesterday that anything mob related just plays into stereotypes everyone has about Chicago. “When out of town people think Chicago they only know the mob and Michael Jordan” were his words.
I agree with @TeddyPargame that using the word Loopers is great because of the potential merch that could be created around that.
I’ll throw up a poll sometime this weekend for people to vote on a name. But today I’m gonna watch the Bears lose in probably embarrassing fashion and eat my sorrows away. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The other one I thought would be a classic and historical (plus a pretty big flex) would be to go with something based off of the Western Golf Association. Professional Golf maybe doesn’t give a rats ass about the Western but it’s still true Chicago. Concepts I played with in my brain are:
Essentially flexes that Chicago is the capital of all things US golf in every timezone minus the Eastern. Also would allow anyone not in Chicago in it.
I’m all for using the WGA to flex on people.
