Roll Call “Chicago” (Part 1)

You should put these in the Silk Road thread for the lulz.

I think that might be my least favorite thread in here.
The rules are kinda ridiculous.

Awesome, looking forward to it guys!

We have 1 spot left

Two rankings provided. First is with price considered, second is just the course in general.
Preserve: 5/3 - Most of the draw is in the value. Excellent course at value, but value aside, slightly above average.

Cantigny: 3.5/5. Price is way off. Well worth seeing and playing (assuming Woodside/Lakeside, Hillside is a worse version of Woodside), not worth the money once you’ve done it.

Prairie Landing: 2/3. I never understood why people like this course. Always struck me as a case of "if you say its a nice place enough times, people will believe you. There used to be a drain and a big orange cone in the middle of the first green, which basically summed the place up for me. Most of the course is exposed to the wind, but it doesn’t have any of the strategic interest links type golf. Then you get to the end of the round and they throw in some holes that look like they just copied them a random parkland course, complete with mature trees and water hazards. Would take Elgin Highlights straight up at the same price.

Harborside: 3.5/4. Prolly a bit overrated, especially when price is considered, but still one of the better public options in the area.

Thunderhawk: 4/4. Basically the reputation is accurate.

Mistwood: 3.5/3.5. Their marketing is non-sense. There is nothing “private experience” about it, but its final. Every other year seems about right.

Foxford Hills, Blackstone, and Heritage Bluffs: No basis to judge.

I like Prairie Landing, but always completely agreed with this. 10-13 have long needed an overhaul. (And I’ve only done HoE once and want to return for sure)

Anybody have interest in taking a tee time at Mt. Prospect on Sunday off my hands. 715 am, was $200 for the foursome on golfnow. Wanted to see before throwing it back to the masses, thanks!

I have a 10:00 in Oakbrook tomorrow morning. Oakbrook Golf has a 6:30 for $58. Anyone interested in a 3:30 round at dawn thirty?

The IJGA is auctioning off groups at some of Chicago’s top clubs (Chicago Golf Included!) Just over 5 days remain on the auctions. https://www.winningcause.org/index.php/ijga/

Why can’t they make it a 4some?

I mean most of the public ones are listed as “priceless”
