Looks like we have one spot left for Village Links on Sunday at 11am.
Yep I’ll be there
This is from Saturday at The Glen. Hope these guys enjoyed the course to themselves because it was tough out there. From my igloo and through the bottom of my scotch glass it looked like they were having fun
Talked to a student of mine who works at Cantigny. He was telling me they are going to be setting up a forward tee box on every hole in one of the 18’s (not sure which) that will serve as junior tees, giving every hole the opportunity to be played as a par 3. As a Dad to a 6 year old, this concept is very intriguing to me. Although, gonna suck for my kid to wait 5 shots for me to finally get up to his tee box!
More time for the shorter legs to walk ahead.
@ben.JAMIN will also be joining us so we have 4
Edit: Looks like someone else slid in on our group before Ben could book. SHOW YOURSELF (really hope its not a rando)
Logistically and pace of play, thinking the box may be on 2 of the 9’s, and they send out the youths on the 9 not part of that day’s 18 (since Cantigny is 3 9’s)? Personally, as a kid, I always joined the adults for only 9.
Schaumburg has these types of tees. I believe they call them the “Life” tees? Basically every hole becomes pitch n putt-able. And like you say, because they have 27, can probably manage that a bit easier on the tee sheet. I’ve played with my son (11) from the one back from those and it was really fun, especially when he out-drove me after I topped one.
Boy are they in for a surprise when they show up and you three are doing this…
If you haven’t signed up for March Mudness yet, with our date change we have had some people who needed to cancel, so we have some availability for probably 15-20 more people.
Golf will be $30-40 at Kankakee Elks on March 28, play as much as you want. Shotgun start at 9:30, more details here:
and sign up here:
We will have two NIT spots available – one for the winner of stableford, one for the winner of stableford + our bracket challenge.
EDIT: Cutoff is probably going to be end of the day Thursday, March 28.
Not to detract from March Mudness…but have 2 spots open at 5iron this Friday (3/19) from 2-6 to watch the March Madness games. Right now it is me and @TrajMahal. Deal is $187.50 per person which includes the simulator rental, drinks, and food. Let me know if you are interested.
Also not to detract from previous event postings but I’m playing a 4 man scramble event at Poplar Creek in Hoffman Estates on Saturday and one of our guys got the 'Rona. Anyone want to join us?
Us other three guys are 10 to 12 hcp if that makes a difference…

Look…I know we have a bracket thread and all, but this is best discussed here IMO.
What is the BEST Public Par 3 hole in Chicagoland?
Not toughest, not most scenic, not longest, but the best in YOUR opinion.
I probably left a Par 3 out that you like, but tried to round up a decently popular/complete bracket for y’all to discuss. Seedings were given by Google Random Number Generator, and don’t actually mean anything. Matchups are purely luck of the draw.
There is no right answer, only for fun since golf season is right around the corner.
(I’ll fill out my bracket during lunch)
No old head?
^ This is why we’re friends.
I’ve got some courses to add to the “to be played” list.
I also submit #5 at calumet county club. Who does love a Donald Ross 220 yard par 3?
