Very true. I was debating seeing if I could set up all day golf there at Harrison Hills. There are a lot of holes people would probably like another go at. There are 3 Par fours that are drivable for anyone that hits it over 230 and all but 1 par 5 is reachable. They are high risk high reward holes but lots of fun.
Best dog tracks that stay open in the winter? I’ve heard White Pines keeps the East open but do temporary greens or just leave 5 gallon buckets in front of the actual greens to hit into.
Heard from people that Village Green up in Mundelein stays open unless there’s snow, can anyone confirm? That’s another Golf Visions property and the tees and fairways blow but the greens have always been in great shape when I’ve played.
Not sure if they’re open or not, but this was my high school golf course so I am very open to sherpa if anyone wants the “Village” experience lol

Isn’t the story around Village that a local high school bought the land expecting to need a freshman campus and it just never happened? Now Golf Visions just strings it along, putting absolutely no money into it. Shoutout to the maintenance shed off 3(?) tee that looks like its riddled in bullet holes from shanks.

Syd is open year round— played it in Jan last year. I think Black is too.

I’ve played Flagg Creek the past 5-6 or so Tgivings, including this year. Previous years, they put a rake on greens to move snow/ice from your line. I’d have to think they’re open but not sure.

Jackson Park in the city is open year round, too. Even when you think there’s no possible way there’s someone in the clubhouse, there they are, warning you on your way out that the greens are slippery with ice and goose shit.

I was at the range last night ripping low shanky blocks with a 5 iron, shoutout #YOTB, and you came to me in a vision to say, “your setup is fucked”. And boy, was it ever.
I thought about fixing it, but then I might lose my distinction as the best player with the worst setup. And without that, what would I be, what would be the point?
