First Round of the Champagne Cup is…. A defeat… 90 foot birdie putts and epic driving by @searanch was no match for the kids from the East Bay Hills @oski @Durdenball. Feel confident we at least made a surge to cause some panic at Bennett Valley. Handshakes on the 16th green. Things could have gotten very interesting via another 18 holes though…

DRCC is my old stomping ground (2 time club champion, nbd). I’m very familiar with Clark, although he’s technically a member at another club down the road, Turlock CC. Kid has incredible talent obviously. The hole in ones and double eagles are insane. Would love to see him take a step up in competition……he’s played only local junior stuff up to this point (and won). Keen to see how he does in AJGA and USGA stuff.

my dad is the high school golf coach down the road from turlock and has raved about this kids game and his approach. Kid just understands the golf swing. Dad is high on the kid. well see how he develops and when he plays some usga stuff but the pieces are there

I am coming out to San Francisco for work next week. Planning to try to play golf in the morning on 12/7 before I fly out that afternoon. My inclining now is to just book a tee time at TPC Harding Park as a solo for their first tee time out, but am here to see if there is any recommendations that would steer me another way.

If you’re flying out of SFO, do Harding. If you’re flying out of OAK, do Corica Park. Have fun!
