Roll Call: Bay Area Golfers

It’s much better than it looks. Underrated course. 10x better than half moon bay and better value. You can see the ocean from like 14 holes and all the holes are super fun (especially #5).

Yo…I’m not good golfer, but Bodega is my baby. That and Northwood. I’d be happy to Sherpa if you and others are ever coming out. I walk it as well.

Push cart is up to you. I would advise against it. Single strap high on back is best for hikeability.

Stretch 1-3 is up hill, but completely manageable. Then you plateau and go completely down hill holes 4-9. Super easy.

Then a short hike across to 10. Which is gradual uphill. At 11 you plateau again and all downhill through 17.

Hike up to 18… which is completely downhill.

Honestly. I’m in terrible shape and it’s an easy walk for me now. A lot of folks are pushing carts which seems suicidal. There’s a string of holes that are mega in my humble opinion. Grounds crew is out there working hard too. For the price it’s absolutely legit. I walk for $57 on weekends as Sonoma County resident.

If anyone has read the Roost/Club Championship post, wants to sign up but is NOT a member of our Northern California RACDG chapter yet, please shoot me a DM so I can get you on the roster. Thanks.

It’s officially December. Still up for a round at Pacific Grove Christmas week? I could do either Thursday the 23rd anytime or Friday the 24th in the morning.

Friday is a maybe. Let me get back to you.

Catching up on this thread and the Chabot discussion a few weeks back reminded me of another golf course that should not exists…Redwood Canyon in Castro Valley. I’ve played it twice and hated it more each time. The fist hole is just, IDK, bad. Anyone had the pleasure?

The front nine is soooooooo tight. I actually enjoyed the back. It’s certainly interesting.

I’m fairly sure that course has been renamed a few times. I don’t HATE it in the white-hot way I feel about Chabot, but it’s not spectacular in anyway and for me it’s a bit of a trek that I’d prefer to only make for the Pleasanton/Livermore courses nearby instead.

That dudes shorts are somethin’ else

The shorts that guy is wearing in the first photo is either tragic or aspirational. I’m going with aspirational. Though @anon24074719 would have a coronary.

Oh fasho. Can’t tell you how many time I’ve been beaten by old dudes in jeans and boots with towels clipped to their belts.

Never play a Nassau against this guy.

Is there even an inseam?

When I first saw the photo, I thought it was a kilt, so maybe not?

Maintains spine angle well. Just need to get that club a little more inside on the downswing.

Bruh…LOL

I played there for the first time the other month and literally walked off the 15th green and straight to the parking lot, I couldn’t take it anymore. Pace of play was atrocious too.

Here’s a nice photo from that day.

It may be the worst course I’ve ever played. They had tee boxes just set up in the middle of fairways lol sick stuff
