It’s going to be so great. Walked the course today. Coosa is going to be different for sure. Old man golf is gone. Slopes and runoffs and chipping areas abound. A few catch basins which I’m sure our friends Andy and Geoff will denigrate but an overall win of restoration, IMO

Greetings and salutations. Haven’t been back around these parts since the great monetization. Kicking around the idea of hopping back in.
I live up in the golf desert that is NW Atlanta. Cobblestone is my home (shout out the gold card) cuz everyone else is insane. Any body play out there regularly? Wouldn’t mind not playing with the cart guys and some randos.

I am coming to town for the Ole Miss - UGA game and looking to play golf Friday. Has anyone played Heritage golf links? If so, how is it?

. @kmart796 has a group going Friday at 11:40 at West Pines, one of the best accessible spots around town and right off I-20 on the west side, if you come in that route.
I think most would encourage you to avoid Heritage. If you’re looking for something close to athens. @DawgLeg @4PuttLegend and @rmattgolden are your guys. The Chimneys is sweet and they might get out with you at UGA or a more ominous spot or 2.
We are staying near Lilburn for the extended weekend so trying to play an afternoon 9 Thursday and 18/27 Friday nearby. I thought about Heritage as I saw it had 27 holes.

Anyone in Athens for any tips on pregame tailgating, bar hopping, etc… prior to the game is welcomed as well. Have a group of 6 coming from Memphis (OM fans) and have never been to Athens.
Heritage is fine if you can get an early time. Tends to get backed up quick. Mystery Valley is in really good shape right now and close to Lilburn.
@4PuttLegend runs a mean tailgate scene and won’t bark at you too much. If you’re tied to wanting a bar I recommend Blue Sky or Boar’s Head.

Currently tops the (putrid) Greater ATL Golf Muni rankings. Would recommend over Heritage, maybe squeeze in a evening 9 at heritage if 18 at MV doesn’t ware you out.

I bought a parking pass at the Tailgate Station, but feel like we will be a little out of place since we have 6-7 OM guys.
For golf, we may try to hit Mystery Valley thursday afternoon.
You should be fine. Plenty of people travel to Athens so there are always opposing fans.
As for bars, there are lots. When I go back now I prefer places like Creature Comforts (brewery DT) and Allgood. Boar’s Head is also a good spot.

Live over in the Buckhead area. Hopefully can get out there with some of y’all if you don’t mind having a newbie golfer around, just started golfing 4ish months ago. Mostly just bounce around between Bobby, Northcrest, and Steel Canyon ranges. Done a few rounds at Chandler, Steel Canyon, and River Pines par 3 course.
