@ChrisP1 had already knocked it out of the park with the gifts that arrived on time, but I had the pleasure of seeing him again this weekend in Nebraska where he gave me the final part of my gift - which had apparently disappeared off the face of the earth for a few months but finally did show up. Nothing short of a master class in finding a great gift inspired by one of the dumbest posts of all time.

Critical question - does the bed of the Lego truck lift up like the real truck?

This is a flatbed model, with the engine access hatch in the bed. Also very much not a LEGO 
licensed product. One brick was melted completely flat, turned out to be one of the side mirror pieces, hence only one mirror. But I’m sure I’ll find a replacement among my kids’ LEGOs and fix it eventually.
