This was my first year doing Secret Santa and had no idea what to expect - what an amazing gift @camgriff2! You trudged through a lot of dark 2024 posts of mine in the politics thread (sorry about that) to bring back some very fond memories of Bandon last year - can’t wait to put this on the wall! My wife is already looking for frames haha so that’s always a good sign.
Also very excited to learn more about Stoicism! This is so weird…I had never heard of Stoicism until just last month - my mother-in-law was telling me about it and she thought I’d really connect with it. I don’t know if stoics are big on fate, but I’m taking this as a sign…

Ha I’m glad the poster passed the all important Wife Test for wall decor! Reading the Bandon trip recaps and discussion made me want to plan a group trip, so definitely going to be laying the groundwork and getting something on the books sooner than later.
Depending on how you read it or who you listen to, there is definitely an element of fate in stoicism. I hope there are a few things in there that resonate with you! Like I said, on a lot of your posts I felt like I could’ve been reading my own post, so I’m excited you’ve had a recent suggestion of it.

The “Ursula, what the fuck!? There’s no TP in the bathroom!” scene has one of my favorite throwaway moments. Smy ends the rant by glancing over at Rabbit and saying, “hey, douchebag!” And Rabbit gives a little hat tip in response. @Nickygifts should be ashamed at having never seen this film.
