This is a good note for anyone coming this weekend. Practice green down by the clubhouse is bent grass like on the course. Practice green up at the range is bermuda.
You can grab a cart down at the clubhouse parking lot and ride back up to the range. You do not need to check in before you do that.

I’ve played UGA tons of times, but I never realized how easy it was to just go get on.
I played last weekend, and 3 undergrads grabbed two carts and just went to the first tee in front of my twosome. The starter said they couldn’t show a confirmation email for their tee time but they claimed they made the tee time. He said they were not on the tee sheet, but for some reason he let them go (maybe cause they said they were only playing 9). What? I know it’s a Uni course (an awesome one) and kids will be kids, but it’s still a golf course.
What was worse is that these three dudes were terrible. They kept driving in reverse, zig zagging back and forth on the fairways (I guess looking for their terrible shots). At once point, they drove over the hill on 6, so I gave it a minute, teed up and launched one down the middle. Just as I swung, here they came, driving back over the hill the wrong way, making it where I hit into them. I am pretty sure they took my ball cause I never found it. We were 30 minutes off pace by the turn cause of these clowns. Anyway … /rant.

That’s actually messed up. I’m really surprised the starter was OK with that because usually they’re pretty good about keeping it tight. Maybe because it was after twilight and only 9? They do get more lax in the evening. But yeah… the “students” that get out there who never play and ultimately play from the wrong tees can really screw up the pace.
I’ve always paid for my tee time. Have definitely walked up when the tee sheet is “full”. Mainly during those last tee times of the day and convinced the starter/clubhouse to let me get out by joining a group or filling a gap between groups off of 9 or 10.
The tee sheet is almost always more full than people that are actually out there. They don’t charge for cancellations so I always overbook and try to get people to fill. I’ll usually call morning of if I have 2+ slots open and give the slots back.

To recap. Balls in air at 9. Check in / warm up 8. We’ll have beer / gatorades / waters and snacks at the course. Afterward we’re going to meet up at creature where everyone gets the first 16 oz pour on TPC.
You can bring any outside food you want to creature, just no heating elements or anything crazy like that. Also can order delivery and they have some small snacks like pretzels etc for sale.

As for food recommendations, plenty of good ass food nearby that’s easy to pick up while drinking at Creature.
