Where there’s a will, there’s a way. It’s certainly not the norm and approach shots that roll back typically hang up in the grass. I’m curiously which round it was in.
1st. Approach was above the hole. Thought I adjusted speed right.
Just missed the hole… it never stopped.
No traditional Sunday pin on 16 was a bullshit move @JBors ! As someone that was clearly in contention and the ace would have put me over the edge!
Yeah I suck, I just wanted to blow it over the back… or right… or dunk it in the drink… or miss it short right in the bunker.
But still! Travesty!!
I used pin set 1-4, which I think were maybe adjusted to the November pins? If I recall they didn’t put the funnel pin on 16 for round 4 last year.
Well there ya have it
Not sure how someone shoots even in round one conditions and nine under in round three conditions (with a bad bogey on 16). I was basically just going to quit forever after being cut from Red Bull (deservedly) and six putting the 12th in round one, but I’ve decided to just embrace the suck and stop caring. I don’t really like any of the courses left this season, so just gonna check out for a bit, go with few to no practice rounds, and see how bad it can get.
Also, the last two versions of Augusta we’ve played haven’t managed to get the fifth hole right. Not many guys hitting lob and sand wedge into that green this week.
For the 2021 version they just need to go back to old pins and make the greens brown.
I was worried about you there for a second on the post that had six edits then was eventually deleted.
I was in a dark place. Getting cut (again, deservedly) hurt, but the six putt was nearly the anvil that broke the camel’s back. It didn’t help seeing a -30 on the board first and knowing that I didn’t have a chance in hell before the event even started. The fact that it was @jbors made it even worse.
If anyone has seen your hands, they would know this isn’t true
Looking at the scores in Strapped to see how my -26 is holding up and I have to ask, @Insulin_And_Bogeys what happened in R3 & R4? You were on track to catch me and put up a +10 weekend?
Need the details.
Terrible. Yeah I was feeling great, I didn’t do any practice rounds, and I didn’t think the green speed was a huge deal. So I didn’t play as great in those rounds in general but I cost myself probably 12 strokes chipping or putting since the balls would run out just a touch more than usual and then barely get over a slope and run 60 ft by on the sloped Augusta greens.
In the moment I was pissed and was wondering what was going on with the chipping and putting and realized the effect of the green speed after I was done playing. All in all it was a terrible effort.
I thought the green speed on chips and putts seemed really impactful, but not at all on approach shots. I had a handful of approaches that went up slopes and then just stayed there, just resulting in death putts coming back.
#2 was the only hole where I felt I could effectively use the slopes to get the ball to the hole, other than that it was always kind of a crapshoot.
Hate to see it. I struggle bigly last time around ANGC so this time I practiced it quite a bit. Really paid off.
Great playing this week. Unfortunately as your captain I left you on the bench. Now I look like a fuckin wanker
I am and have always been a fiery competitor. Unfortunately, the fire inside me sometimes runs hot when I’m not getting the most out of my game. This leads to some instances where my conduct is not what I wish to show, especially as a role model to the younger generation.
I apologize to Big Golf Weekend 2020, @JBors and to the Refugees for any conduct that may have crossed the line. I am always trying to improve and do better; as a video game golfer, husband, father, or as a human being. Thank you M@sters for a memorable week!
