PGA 2K23 Refuge Tour - Info Post #9562 - S24 Begins 11/25

Would someone be able to pull my scores from the leaderboard? Forgot to submit my last 2 or 3 rounds…

Painting my living room, so the TV and PS5 have been taken down.

If someone is able to view the PS leaderboard and pull the scores I’ll hold off finalizing for now.

I did not enter mine in the spreadsheet but I think I was like +36 so I figured I was just outside the running. I apologize if that screws up the algo.

Feel free to post them if you want! Looks like you were getting a lot of pops so it might turn out to be pretty high up the ranks

I’ll hop on once I get home from work and post it unless someone has faster access to the xbox leaderboard. I’m Fred Fishsticks on Xbox.

No huge rush, I have an appointment at 5:30 and then have dinner plans, so I’ll be back probably around 8-8:30pm

The overall Season 22 Refuge Tour Butt Cup Champion is: @yacht_rocker! Congrats on the dub, and well done for using your strokes well. From what I could see there was steady improvement over the course of the season and then you just balled out in at least 3 of the four rounds here to clinch it.
Rounding out the podium places are @bert and @BlakeG in T2, and then @ChuckV247 in solo 3rd.

@BlakeG was low gross and it wasn’t particularly close in that battle.

That concludes Season 22, thank you as always for playing, the continued participation is awesome to see! We are on to the next one. I should have time tomorrow to work on new flights based on season strokes gained stats, so stay tuned for a Season 23 sheet and schedule forthcoming, as well as a new info post for new and returning players. Season 23 starts on 8/12.

Big thank you and shout out to the admin team helping keep this thing on the rails with scheduling, here’s hoping that one day we get cross-platform societies.

TOUR INFORMATION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Welcome new and returning players, this will be the information post for our seventh season on 2K23, the 23rd overall since the beginning. The new season is scheduled to begin on 8/12 and will run through October. (If 2K follows past release cycles, there might be a 2K25 out in the October time frame, but we will figure things out if/when that news breaks. So far there has been zero news)

Below is the new spreadsheet, if you are a NEW player please sign up by adding your Refuge handle to the Flight Status-Player List tab. The first event of the season will be your qualifying.

Some notes:

  • if you played last season, you are still on the list. If you played enough rounds to qualify for the Butt Cup, you have been re-flighted using the S22 strokes gained data, so some players have changed flights.
  • If you didn’t post any tournament rounds, you will need to re-qualify. If you were on the sign up/player list last season, your name is there on the bottom, just without a flight assigned.
  • If you posted a tournament round but are missing from the player list, please DM me and I can get it sorted out
  • as of today, 8/7, the full schedule/settings aren’t complete. I will be working on this the remainder of this week.

General Information:

  • Tournaments are completed in the NLU Refuge Tour societies on Xbox, Playstation, and PC.
  • Please post your scores in the appropriate tab for that tournament, in the correct flight.
  • If your Refuge username doesn’t appear in the drop down list check that it is entered on the flight status tab and that you have completed qualifying (if there is still a problem shoot Jeff_M a message)
  • All rounds should be played in the society tournaments unless otherwise stated.

Society names for each platform are as follows:
Xbox: NLU Refuge Tour
Playstation: NLU Refuge Tour
PC: NLU Refuge Tour

  • Events run Tuesday to Sunday, Mondays are maintenance days for flighting new players and to update season points. See the Schedule tab in the spreadsheet for the full season schedule with dates for each event.

  • Tie breakers for 1st place in each flight are (in order): Final round score, penultimate round score.

  • Battlefield flight promotion after 3 wins is in effect through event 5, after that there will be no movement. A battlefield promotion will carry over half points.

  • The playoff at the end of the regular season is a full field event which is handicapped based on season performance.

  • In order to qualify for the playoff, you must have posted a minimum of 24 individual round scores. This requirement is to meet the minimum number of rounds to calculate a representative handicap. So, even if you don’t finish an event, it is in your best interest to post scores from any rounds you did complete. The Commissioner has the right to push through any players who are close to the 24 round threshold but haven’t met it.

  • Flights will reshuffle at the conclusion of the season based on the season-long strokes gained metric. Qualification for the Butt Cup is the threshold to be eligible for the reshuffle, otherwise you will remain in the same flight.

  • Regular season points winners from each of the lower flights earns an automatic promotion to the next flight for the next season.

Prizes for the podium places of the Butt Cup are custom stamped ballmarkers courtesy of @Jeff_M. This is a very low stakes thing, let’s just have some fun.

*Note: The Commissioner (Jeff_M) is not eligible for prizes. If he places on the podium of the playoff, the prize will be pushed to the next eligible player.

Tour Player Rules:

  • No chipping on greens unless your path to the hole is impeded by rough, sand, etc.
  • If you do not post a score in the spreadsheet for an event, it will be deemed a DNF. Each week I will try to go through and remind folks who have blank spots, but please do your best to keep up with this so scores and points can be totaled in a timely manner.
  • Use your best judgement and don’t be a scumbag.

New players joining mid-season:

  • Qualifying is open through the season, sign up by adding your name to the Flight Status - Player List tab in the spreadsheet. The current event will serve as your qualifying.
  • First, find the NLU society in the game on your platform. The society should be called NLU Refuge Tour. We are on PC, Xbox, and Playstation.
  • Take note of the difficulty settings so you know what to expect. You can find this info on the Difficulty Settings tab in the spreadsheet
  • Take note of the Rules, you can also find a tab for this in the spreadsheet
  • Play the current event and post your scores as a Qualifier to the appropriate event tab.
you will be flighted depending on your finishing position in the event.
Last note here, the in game society events run on GMT, they start at midnight GMT and end at 1am GMT. Just pay attention to this and the dates on the Schedule to ensure you don’t miss playing an event.

I’m putting in a lot of work over the offseason following my trip to France to enjoy some Equestrian Dressage with Rory. The team and I were disappointed with our showing in and leading up to The Butt Cup. Considering a caddie change as well. We’re coming for those cheeks next season.

Everyone in the C-Suite flight has been put on notice that we comin

I’m dumb aka can’t remember because it’s been too long but do we enter our total score or relation to par on the sheet? Aka 80 or 8 if we were +8 on a par 72 course?

Relation to par. Sheet automatically fills in the final score

Very fun course this week, thanks for setting up the new season!

Throwing this out there to see if there is interest - if two people volunteered as captains how many would want to do a Solheim Cup? We’d still do the regular stroke play event that same week that would count towards Butt Cup standings, but we could draft two teams the week or two prior and do USA vs. Europe cumulative scores. My thought is snake draft decided by coin flip to see who goes first, each capt would get 1 pick from YH, then C-Suite, and so on through the flights until each team has three players from each flight. Only downside is not every player would get picked, but #playbetter.
